1947 CJ-2A's worth?
There is a guy selling a 47 cj-2a here near Seattle for $750. He wanted 900 just the other day. I would love to get it, but doubt I can persuade my wife. Anyways, how much would a decent looking, non running CJ-2a go for. I always hate it when someone ask that question, but I have to be one of those people today. I wish I could post a link, but I don't know how. You can look at it at Seattle's craigslist, search for CJ.

there was a guy around here selling a beat up one for 1800... not worth it at that price.(no brakes and the engine didnt run)
so id say that 750 sounds about right to me...

Type in the site and someone will post it for you ,. If the body isnt a rust pile and frame still good .Sounds reasonable. Good ones are getting hard to find. Any flatty is a good one to me!
I found it and YES buy it!!http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/car/250969213.html

I'm already sold on it. Now I just have to sell my more reasonable half. Thanks for the encouragement guys! One question though. I thought CJ-2's had split windows.

That looks like a good buy to me. I gave $500 for my 51 3-A and I felt like I stole it. It was in about the same condition. I was able to get it running without much effort which made me even more proud. I say just buy it, your other half will be proud of it.

I went and looked at it yesterday. It looks in pretty good shape considering its age and not being cared for. My question to anyone with experience custom restoring old Jeeps, would this be worth trying? I have no experience in that at all, but would really love to save an old Jeep like this http://wagoneers.com/Willys/47-CJ-2A/
Here are more pictures of it. Thanks in advance. |
