1946 Cj2a

So I just picked one up as a project... needs a motor, tranny, and t-case for starters. What would be good to stuff in it.

I was thinking a 4 popper, 5 speed and whatever t-case I can use, Not going to be my wheeler, already have one of those. Just going to cruise it with maybe the occasional 2-track.

Stock drivetrain parts are out there and still fairly reasonable. Might try earlycj5.com They have a good "for sale" section.

If it's a Sunday driver I would restore it flat head and all. If your wanting it to go faster then there are other hurdles. Remember that the axles and everything else are made to be indestructable with a 60 HP motor. A nice upgrade is a 2.5L Iron Duke. I talked with Novak a couple of years ago about this conversion. The radiator can even be the same.

Here are Better Pics...

little bit more holes then I thought, but the frame is still solid and the body and stuff are too... only holes are lower t-gate, pass floor and tool box bottom

I have been told the rear wheels are original and worth some $$ the tailgate is not original as the original should say willys... But Not sure what I will do yet... Found a motor and tranny I think...
