$1800 gear change?

Is $1800 too much to pay to have my cj5 re-geared? That includes parts and labor...

Way too much, almost double the average on here.

Should be 400 to 650 per axle.

parts should be around 500.00, seems a little high for a straight change no lockers. google Randys Ring and Pinion to get a rough idea on parts

Look up Rons machine Shop or something like that. They have a good deal on front and rear with install kits right now.

Oh that $1800 is for both axles...... still too high? I just think its a litte crazy that a lift kit and tires together cost less than regearing...... im looking at nearly $3500 just to lift the thing.....geez thats more than the jeep cost me.

That's robbery.

I just had a quote to have my AMC 20 rebuilt for $2000. This included new one piece axles, gears, an ARB locker plus clean and paint.
