First, I am about 99.999% certain that Fieros never came with power steering.

Second, even if they had, the motors and transmissions were basically a front wheel drive configuration that was moved to the rear of the vehicle. This means that all of the engine accessory brackets are different than engines set up for rear wheel drive.

As someone who has previously owned a 151 powered Fiero and currently owns a 151 powered Scrambler, I can tell you that the two share very little in common. Even the engine blocks are different.

Wikipedia has a pretty good list of vehicles that the Iron Duke was available in. Just keep in mind that there are going to be differences in the engine accessory bracketry.

I saw in a jeep bible for 72-86 that the steering box in this jeep is an solid unit, and that it was put in a number of years, Therefore, there should be a few out there to be had, I'll see if I can find the author and years. In the mean time I 'm putting a 80CJ5 back together wit an Iron Duke (man is it hard to find info on this combo), and could use some help in figuring out a couple of things.

1) I need to add about 1.5 " to the steering column due to lift kit.
2) I need a wiring diagram for the GM 151.
3) what I got was pieces and I'm trying to figure out what I need for the linkage at the Carb, I have the 2 throttle brackets that bolt to the manifold, but what is the bolt hardware look like for allowing it to pivot.

Thanks,

You may have to be prepared to find an Iron Duke in a S-10, Sunbird, Camaro, or whatever and swap the power steering and alternator brackets and all of the pulleys to your engine. Only problem might be if your engine does not have the same bosses as the donor engine. I've never looked into it much so I honestly don't know.

I do know that the power steering pump and hoses are available at NAPA because I replaced those pieces on my own Jeep at one point. The sticking point seems to be the power steering pump bracket that Jeep used. I've also read that this bracket can be prone to cracking.

The steering box isn't vehicle specific, so the pump and box don't have to come out of the same vehicle.

All that you need from a 151 equipped vehicle is the brackets for the pump really. You can source the pump and hoses from an auto parts store if you have to. The hoses will need to be for a CJ w/151.

I found a power steering pump and brackets at Davey's Jeeps...and paid out the bung hole for it. They are out there but you have to hunt for them. I see GM 151's on Fleabay and Craiglist every few months.
