Thanks Ed Laberge
Might I suggest replacing your Final Drive Control Module (FDMC) with one that was salvaged prior to being reflashed with N23 all together?

I was about to do this before the dealership got me a new transfer case motor on their dime and my problem went away. I also just so happen to know that a fellow member on this site was looking to offload his spare FDMC which is non-flashed. Find and PM johnevans3 on here, he had one for sale a few weeks ago. You must check compatibility which I believe requires that you remove your back seat to read the numbers on your FDMC but if all's good this may be an easy (and much, much cheaper) fix for you.

Good luck sir!

*also....HOLY HELL, 326 pages of people dealing with this nonsense?! C'mon Jeep...

Yep, I'm here and still have the pre n23 FDCM for sale. Sold my Jeep 3 weeks ago so have the module left over. I towed the Jeep behind my motorhome which I also sold but would NEVER tow without the extra insurance of a clean FDCM. The Jeep was flashed by 5 different dealers for a total of 8 times before a dealership in Spokane got it right. It worked perfectly for 2 years before I sold it BUT I never completely trusted it so, that's why I had the extra FDCM. When I hooked up to the motorhome to go, I wanted no surprises. I was ready to travel. $125 plus actual shipping to your location.

A member in Germany contacted me a few days ago and will have first chance. Have given him shipping costs and he is to get back to me. If I don't hear from him in a day or so, you are the guy. Will let you know either way. Thanks for your inquiry.

Giro, sorry but the guy in Germany did agree to purchase and has paid for the FDCM and I have shipped it to him. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Hopefully, another clean FDCM will become available for you.

UPDATE 2-18-14: I pulled out the back seat, disconnected the plugs on the FDCM, drove it around, plugged 'em back in (disconnecting the battery etc.) and still get the message and no low. Ordered a salvaged FDCM this morn and I'll try that.

UPDATE 2-21-14: Replaced FDCM this morning with salvaged FDCM- viola! 4wd low returns, "service 4wd soon" gone! This jeep forum is awesome!
where did you find a salvaged FCDM that had been flashed. I need one for my 2005 Jeep GC. Phone number or web would be greatly appreciated'

I have a Forward Drive Control Module that wasn't programmed in N-23 recall. Was in vehicle salvage yard since 2009. Part Number P6044199AJ. Fits 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd (may fit other model years 2005-2010 and, Commanders).; Ones that had the N23 recall involving 4 wheel drive system, that ended getting messed up by it can trust this one. I traded my Jeep in, but had this in it before and it worked great, except my transfer case actuator went bad as many with that recall had happen also. I had bought this, but decided to put the original back in when I traded, as dealer deducted $1000.00 from trade in due to recall problems, so I'm offering this good FDCM for only $175.00 + shipping if not in local area.

I also have a PRE N23 recall Final Drive Control Module for sale. Make sure yours has the PN 129, it will not work properly if yours is a 199. Asking $75 plus shipping. For 5 years its been a life saver in getting my Grand Cherokee into neutral. According to the graveyard that I bought it from it fits 2008-2010 Grands.

This is the information of where I got the Unit. It was taken out of a

Just compare the part number on yours. The number should match and the last 2 letters should be same or at least close. As far as I know the FDCM's used in XK/WK with 4x4 and QD2 were all the same.

I wonder your Commander '09 has a Quadra Trac 2 drive train? Isn't it a Quadradrive II, is it?

A.
