Yes, this is PRE N23 FDCM. It was a blessing to have it with us everytime we had the dreaded 'service 4x4' message. Please email me directly at cathyv817 (@gmail.com)to work out the details. Thanks.
So the dreaded Service 4WD system message is back. Rather than going back to the dealer and re-attempting the P73, id rather look for an old FDCM at this point. Anyone have one laying around by any chance?
I pulled one from a scrapyard a while back but it started to pour and I left before noting the VIN. I'll send it to you if you want to take a shot in the dark, can't verify if its pre n23 or not as the p73 and a new transfer case actuator motor solved my NO 4LO issue. I want to say it had the 3.7 engine though can't confirm.
Thank you! I have the 5.7. Isnt there a number on the unit itself that should help figure out whether it would work on my rig? It's been too long since I dealt with this last lol
What's worked for me since it was "fixed", disconnect the battery, wait a half hour or so hok it back up. I did this twice and it worked, been good for a year or so.
Not sure if this would help but I have been plagued since the beginning with the n23. I purchased a BlueDriver scanner that hooks to an app on your cell phone. It can read and clear codes that will allow you to go into 4 lo.
I think with today's cars it is a necessity. I actually had a 4 lo code that was a problem, the front differential locking solenoid wire broke off, I replaced it and the code cleared itself. Good luck.
