no whiners!

For me, its only for dedicated trail rigs/rock rigs. On the street while not inherently dangerous, sticks out, draws attention, and can be a cop magnet.

They are for offroad only. They are pointless on the street. If I see somebody with one on the street, I think there's a guy that is saying "LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!" and may not have ever taken his Jeep off the pavement.

yeah that or even those kids who beef up their civics mustangs and what not and street race. im more worried about getting hit by them then a lifted truck or jeep or whatever. theres one intersection i have to go through that is a four way stop but there is only traffic ever going one way. and i know sometime in the future ill get hit by a kid running the stop sign because he thinks no one is going to be on the road

I think if you got it, flaunt it. I have a stinger, i like the look of it and ive put it to use off road too. My friends call it my jeep's boner and im glad to have it so with the odd chance i do hit something i can still drive my jeep.

There's a difference between idiotic driving and installing devices on your vehicle which will increase the amount of damage done to another vehicle, object or person regardless of driving skill.
Why do you think pop-up headlight designs were abandoned? They were ****ing up pedestrians far worse than if they'd just been hit with a bumper. You might think of the stinger as a safety device (which it is, off-road) but while on-road, any extra safety it may seem to provide you with is simultaneously being taken away from someone else in the event of a collision. Like I said in the other thread, while there may not be a state law against them where you live, your insurance company might not cover you in the event of an accident or at all depending on their terms and conditions. I really don't care whether people want to use them or not, I just think the majority are doing it for the wrong reasons. |

If you have it I just hope your not a lamer and actually use it. As for safety (Oak tree your in MY way), I'd have spikes on my bumper if I wouldn't get a ticket. Survival of the fittest. The more we cater to idiots the more idiots live. |
