I'm in the same boat. XJ is the newest ride in the family. My wife drives the Civic, and it's been pretty reliable as well. When we go anywhere, we always take the Jeep. (even though the Honda gets twice the MPGs)

Why drive anything else?It would be like marrying a super model and then sleeping with bag of rice.

Nope. My TJ stays in the garage and driven mostly on the weekends, wheelin' trips, and plain old gettin' out. My DD is an '04 Dodge Ram QC/HO-CTD 4x4...which gets better fuel mileage than my TJ does, even with 4:10's and 33's.

But the way fuel prices are going, I may end up starting to drive my little Toyota 2x4 short box 4cyl/5spd...as it gets excellent mileage (but isn't fun to drive ).

No it would cost $15 to drive to and from work every day. Plus I like to wear my tires out on the trail not on the road.

same here, however I am currently looking to purchase a 1000 dollar geo metro or something similiar. Gas just hit 2.79 a gallon here, and just found out that oil is up above 70 bucks a barrel cause of the hurricane.

I need something that is better on gas for a while.

I only have enough space to park one vehicle at my apartment, and at this time, it's my Jeep. So yeah, my jeep is my DD. If I had another spot I would get my jetta running and park it here also..

It's a 40 mile drive, in seattle traffic that's 2 hours, to get to my shop where my other vehicles are.

Luckfully work is only 10 miles, if it wasn't hills I would bike it.
