xbox wireless internet adapter?

They got wireless adapters on amazon for xbox that are around $50. Does anyone know of any off-brand adapter that works well and is cheaper? I have an OLD 2006 xbox 360 that I do not want to spend much $$ on since it doesn't work that well. I just need a wireless internet adapter on it so I can use it to watch netflix in the bedroom without a cord running 30 feet into the other room.

Any good working cheap adapters?

Yeah that works but then I'd have to have two systems running instead of one just to watch netflix. I could just hdmi the laptop to the tv and watch netflix on it but there's no controller or remote to change things from the bed.

I knew I should've bought a netflix-loaded tv or blue ray player. I cheaped out on a no-brand 32" flattie.

You can buy a wireless repeater that has RJ-45 ports on it. Not only will it repeat your Wifi, but you can plugin RJ45.

Here are a few cheap ones.

Just search for wireless repeater on newegg etc.. If it has RJ45 ports it should do what you want. I hope this helps.

That is cool and I never thought of using one of those. I wonder how I set it up to read my comcast modem/router? Do I gotta set it up via a computer first?

What you do is connect it to your computer by either plugging into it, or sometimes they have an open wifi you can connect to for configuration purposes. When you get into the web interface, you can configure your wifi info from your wireless, and that should pretty much be it.

I actually have one setup for the same reason you want one. Except I haven't turned on the xbox in probably 3 years

So the repeater stores the wireless info once you disconnect it from your PC and then plug in the xbox?

Sorry, didn't see this until now. Yes, it will store the wireless info once you disconnect it from the PC after you've configured the repeater.

It will do exactly what you want.

Thanks man. I ended up going with this one:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've had good luck with Netgear stuff so I figured I'd stick with em.

Cool. I've got this one http://www.netgear.com/home/products...WN2000RPT.aspx

I have mine hooked up to a couple of 2U servers at home. One of these days I'll get around to wiring some cat 5e or cat 6. But yeah, no problems with mine so far.

I'm planning on making a LackRack : https://wiki.eth0.nl/index.php/LackRack

Wait a second, I think I have a belkin N300 in my computer box. I was using it recently with comcast's regular cable modem (now I have their wireless cable modem).

Completely forgot about it. Could I use that?

The thing I showed you was an actual repeater. However some wireless routers can act as a repeater. I'm not sure if the Belkin N300 can out of the box. You might be able to flash DD-WRT firmware on it though, and maybe that will work. Go here http://dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database and search your router model number, it should be around 7 characters long.

Ok so I got the N300 wifi Range Extender from Netgear and connected it to my comcast router/modem. It's green on the N300 so that means the connection is good but there's no internet connection when i plug in the xbox. I'm trying to access www.mywifiext.net but that page is not loading or does not exist (says in the manual to use that to access the extender's network).

I'm confused and not sure what else to do.
