Is this Wrong ........

Is taking advantage someone's stupidity to make money wrong ?

One of my frineds is Pretty wealthy and is always snapping front u joints which destroy his shafts on his TJ (he likes doin front digs on rocks)

Well I decided to take advantage of that and I just goto the salvage yards and pull an axleshaft for $18 and put in a new u-joint and install then in his jeep for $125 an axleshaft is this wrong ? I dont see anything wrong with it . I cant help that he has no sence of the value of a dollar or isnt mechanically inclined at all.

Would you do it if it was you ?

He's always throwing his $$ in your face so why not right ?

Does he think you're putting in a new axle shaft? If so then you qualify as a "crooked mechanic" and are worth approximately 2 drops of owl -=-=-=-=.

I think its wrong, since its your friend and all, if it was someone off the street or if I owned an repair shop or something I would do it all the time, but if it was in my circle of friends I dont think I could.

Depends on how good of a friend he is.

The real question is how good of a friend is he? While I think you're entitled to charge whatever you want for your work, you're clearly aware that you've opted for the high end. So it comes down to how he would react if he found out that he could get the same thing for 1/3 the price or maybe less. Would he be mad at you, or would he shrug it off? If he'd be mad enough that it could damage your friendship, then you have to ask yourself if your friendship is worth ruining over that extra money in your pocket.

Edit: D'oh, Rob99 and I are on the same page...he's just less wordy than I am!

I must add though, in my circle of freinds we seem to pay eachother with food for eachothers labor. Cost me a whole Dr. Pepper to get my tires installed and ballenced. But I had to pay a Jr. Bacon cheeseburger to get my exhaust cut. But then it was cool because I got paid cheetos to tune a CB
