A Unlimited Rubicon was shown at SEMA in Las Vegas with a 3 litre diesel, not much other info in article. new to this forum and not sure if this is the right spot for this.

Dodge Nitro (Libery) with a 5.7L HEMI. WOAH, that's awsome. Chrysler should
build em both. In limited form at least.

Rumor I heard from a co-worker that went to 2006 sema was that this JK concept had not a cummins 4.2 6cyl, but a 4.2L derived 3.0L v-6 Mercedes Common Rail diesel.

Before that I read that it was a read that is was a simple mis-print with folks at SEMA.

Which version is true IDK.

One thing for sure is a Diesel JK 4-door would be AWSOME!!!

i know it was really a 3.0...but screw that! the rumor (and sign at SEMA) said 4.2L Cummins. (misprint or not!)
they also claimed a D44 front and D60 rear.

you can fit a Viper V10 in a TJ, then there shouldn't be a problem shoehorning a diesel in a JK.

either way i'd like to see HP D44 front, D60 rear, 300 ft-lbs turbo diesel in a 2-door 105-107" wheelbase, with lockers. i'd definitely buy it

I beleive that it is the Common Rail Diesel. There has been talk about Mercedes making this diesel that would work well for the U.S. market/emissions.

I wish these rumors would stop and DC would just make a diesel option for the wrangler. They might not sell enormous amounts of them, but a sizeable portion would be bought.
