Just for irony I hope they'll outsource the customer serivice to the US so all the Indian people having car troubles hang up the phone frustrated when they get some American whos clueless.

MSNBC reported that the 33-horsepower engine will be capable of 80 mph.
0-80 in what? 5 minutes?? I dont think I'd want to be the poor schmo that takes that thing on the highway. The merge lane better be longer than a landing strip. FInally, somthing my Jeep has more power than. Hell, my dad's lawmower could give it a run for its money.

This means that Sameer, Santosh and Kumar from the local sweatshop engineered this mofo for about $8 and a bag of curry. I'm sure its extremely safe and reliable!

yea, i read about this today too, going to have to be manual for a 33hp motor, with one heavy fly wheel, but, this all has been done once before, partly becuase of the most F up person in this world, Hitler. The VW has one motor at 26hp and next one up I think was 35hp, and look at all the ppl that worship that car. hell I have a 1600 type 3 motor in my sandrail. it will take my camaro off the line for the first 30feet probably.

"Tata developed the car using lower-cost Indian engineers and "out-of-the-box solutions" to slash development and production costs. Rising prices of steel, aluminum, copper and other commodities raised the car's costs in the four years since Tata announced it, prompting the group to make design changes for the car."

Def. won't ever see US soil. I'm guessing the 'out of the box' solutions include thick NERF (tm) bumpers in lieu of brakes.

I had a 1600 Type 3 in my 68 Squareback. It was the 1st year for EFI and it licked hairy, sweaty ones. On top of that, it had a swing arm rear transaxle that made it handle like sack of crap.
