I work as a stage hand at a live theatre and there are days we have a 3 hour break where we get paid b/c we're on standby in case the client wants to do a sound check or something, so everyone including my boss brings a laptop and still gets paid to screw around online or watch movies. It's pretty nice being able to come on here
What the hell is this "work" you speak of?
I clean house and work outside all day so technicaly I guess you could say I do.

"This place is like a fine drug.
It's easy to start, hard to quit, you lose sleep over it, you lose money because of it, and you put up with alot of **** from some people associated with it. But no matter what you never wanna give it up."
ahah same boat, someone thought it would be a good idea to make a dedicated ALS unit one weekend for a client (large hospital network) as we are contracted for their ALS transports (not CCT) so basically just cardiac monitor and potential for invasive treatment enroute. We sat for the 36 hours as mentioned above, while the other crews got ran like non other. The next week we found that dedicated unit was no longer dedicated.

Guilty, I work on a offshore tug and barge that is currently going from Puerto Rico to St. Croix Virgin Islands, we work 12 hour shifts and I work the night shift so I do a little JF surfing, when we are not doing cargo transfers.
