wind sucks

whhyyyyy does my jeep drift so much in the wind?!!?!?!

it makes driving to work and staying in your lane very difficult.
is it because of the soft top catching like a sail?

blah .. ok .. i'm done

Actually wind blows.

We enter the zone of impressive numbers when we consider the onetime cost of the 1996 floods ($27 billion, but still cheaper than the 1998 floods), the annual direct losses due to desertification ($42 billion), and the annual losses due to water and air pollution ($54 billion). The combination of the latter two items alone costs China the equivalent of 14% of its GDP each year." - Jared Diamond, Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed

We had a blowing snow/bilzzard warning in effect yesterday and last night. There were drifts maybe 18 inches high extending all the way across my lane, and I was the first guy cutting tire tracks through them...wind was blowing so hard it looked like the entire surface of the road was ripping buy sideways at like 40 mph (because of the blowing snow). You wanted to look to the right to see what you were going to hit, because it literally felt like you were sliding sideways. It was incredibly hard to drive straight. Good times, good times.

Yeah when I go on the high way sometimes the winds make it really hard to drive. Almost reminds me of those racing games in the arcade. When you are driving the wheel try's to turn itself witchever way.

Your top is officially a sail when it's windy. With the limited weight of the heep, the wind will put you where it likes. I feel for you. my truck was being blown around this morning on th way to work. I'm sure the Jeep was worse.

wind just plain sucks in the YJ, sometimes it will determine whether I am going to go on a longer trip or not, if it is really windy i just stay home, driving into the wind in a YJ is just not that much fun, mind you, it has to be a pretty heavy wind.

It's pretty windy up here today, I had to retrive my trashcans from the ditch across the road this morning.

My TJ is the only vehicle that I had ever owned that can be slowed by oncoming wind.

Aside from the aerodynamics, you can thank the 4-banger. When she was a DD, I've opted not to go places because I didnt feel like driving into a headwind.

I actually got off the highway yesterday because it was so windy. Took a longer route home just to know that I could stay in one lane.

We had 54mph gusts last night here in michigan. I even had trouble keeping my streamlined camaro in its lane.

Also lost a tree.
