Will a Wrangler pass inspection without the doors on?

Pretty straightforward question I think.

Why wouldnt it?

These questions pop up from time to time. The same old tired arguments always arise. You should be fine

Wrangler will pass inspection all Jeeps will.

Because of the original Military design that had doors mounted onto the hard top and not the body tub directly all Jeeps can be inspected without door present.

I forget the exact Law order but it falls to DOT from the federal Goverment.

I have never had doors on any of my Willy's, Ford, Kaiser or AMC Jeeps during inspections...LOL

Same goes for my Chrysler, and Diamler Chrysler and AM General Jeep/Mutt's either.

If you think you need to bring a picture along to show the Jeep has dooors...LOL Take one with you.

I take the doors off my Liberty and 1984 Cherokee too, and have had them inspected without them on.

I ask because I bought my Wrangler out of state and it has some pretty dark tint on the front windows that won't pass inspection here. I figure if I just take the doors off for a day...

Wow, I'm really loving living in a state with no inspections now. I even get to drive with the windshield folded down legally! I just gotta pass emissions every other year...

Call your state inspection facility. I called NJDMV before I took my heep in to make sure they wouldnt bust my stones for going through with a bikini top. The guy told me that as long as the driver is covered, not problems.

Dont forget, no doors means no mirrors, unless you've relocated them.

Are you saying that a convertible won't pass the NJ inspection unless the top is up?

BS!

Only state I've heard of giving problems is Penn.

Nope. Went to the inspection station the time before last with my soft top down, and they made me put it up before proceeding. This time around I threw on the bikini, windjammer, and tonneau. I'd rather not give them any more things to nitpick. They spent almost 5 minutes looking under the Jeep. For what, who knows. It passed though, so I have 2 more years.
