Who's built a shed lately?
I'm going to build a 10x12 shed within the next year and I was wondering what it might cost me. How much did it cost you guys? Pics would be cool for some ideas too!

Search through the threads on this site. They have some very helpful info on building shops/buildings and a lot of pics.

I built a 10x15 shed last fall with 15 concrete piers, 8' walls, T-111 and a gable roof. Cost me about $1200, I think, with all the running back to the store for more wood.
It looks like a shed.

Cheaper or just as competitive to have one delivered in most cases. Try that too.

That's exactly the style I was thinking about but I have to keep it at 10x12 since that's the max size shed my city will allow.

i designed a shed in my drafting class last year for our school. its a 10x12 shed. uses T-111 siding with 8-inch oc grooves. our wood shop built it and its up on school property, curtosey of me. also have two 10x12's at my house. the one at school is real nice tho, and very functional. id have to ask how much it cost. i could probly go take a pic of it too.

I'll get some pics of what I have here. Bought a kit from local lumber place about seven yrs ago. Kit delivered was $890. Now would be closer to 1200 as a guess. Came with all materials from nails, wood to shingles. I added some extras things. Cheap storm window for light, ridge vent, blocks to put shed up on and tar paper for when I roofed it. So total was about $925 give or take. It's 10x12 with a gabled roof.

Had one of these delivered about 2 months ago. It was a 12'x20' in the Salt Box style for just under $3500. I had alot of upgrades like sideing instead of T-111, architectural shinges, an extra window, ridge vent, and a few other things. Sure I could have built it for a little cheaper, but with all the overtime at work, there just wasn't time. http://blackbearstructures.com/

It will cost as much as you want it to.
It's a shed, 24" on center and T-111 plywood wall /siding, OSB roof sheathing under rolled roofing dirt floor you could get away with a couple of hundred. OR like I did, Poured concrete floor, 12 center, 3/8 exterior ply walls w/vinyl siding, 5/8 ext roofing and architectural shingles to match my house, windows to match the house and a650 amp 220v breakout box for power run to it. I did it all myself , The shingles and windows were bought when I redid the house a year before and it still cost $1800 in materials. |
