by skipping them instead of a write in you are essentially giving your consent, if you aren't happy, vote for the write in "ficus"
Ohio is an open primary. When you walk into the precinct you have to announce whether you want a Republican or Democratic ballot. That then becomes your party affiliation, unchangeable for 2 years. Independents cannot remain independent and vote.
So even though Ohio bills itself as being "open," and "allowing anyone" to vote in the primary, it's not actually true. You become a member of the party the moment you ask for a ballot.
While it's tempting to sit it out, I believe it would be more beneficial if I show up and vote against "Big Mac". He's a real disappointment to me. May as well just tell the dems to move into the White House because ol' John is just about as liberal as they are.
The government needs to get back to what they were intended to be in the first place and stop being a "nanny" to everyone too lazy or stupid to make it on their own.
There are folks out there who truly need help, and I don't mind helping them at all. I've done a few things for people on my own when they needed it, and should be doing more than I do for that matter.
My problem is with everyone being bailed out instead of allowing them a learning opportunity of their own. That kind of "help" (aka enabling people to make wrong decisions) along with porkbarrel projects and the government's programs that turn making babies into an income source are where they need to get straightened out first................chim
