A little background on this photo. My wife's Uncle and his family visited us from Florida in June of 06. He is a Vietnam vet and we took him to The Wall in D.C.

Him and his son went to look at the wall and we stayed on the other side of the grass a long way away from the wall. (we were up by the statues). I was snapping photos and took about 80 photos, one right after the other as fast as my slow arse camera could prep to take another photo. The pollen was really bad and you can see it in the air in all the photos as I was zooming in so much.

They arrived at a specific name, and there is a third shadow in the photo. It is not photoshop, I only have microsoft paint on my computer and I have the high res 3264x2448 original photo on my thumb drive along with the rest of the photos.

After seeing the third shadow, we went and reviewed all the photos of the visit to the wall, about 80 of them, and saw nobody that resembled the man in the third shadow. This photo was taken about in the middle of the photos taken at The Wall, so we got good photos of everyone that crossed in front of the camera.

The picture at the wall seems to be deceptive. Notice that the people aren't centered in the photo they are to the left. I would say that the photo could have been cropped to cut out the third person standing behind to the left of the other two people. The third shadow is also taller so I would think that the person was standing a few feet behind the other two possibly standing on top of something.

You said this was a Military Jeepers competition. Not a veterans.

Therefore I based my vote on what appears to be an active service soldier.

The wall photo is interesting. One thing I notice is there is more definition or contrast in the mystery shadow. The other two shadows appear to be all one solid dark color, whereas the third has a defined hair/face line, and a lighter shirt collar. More like the third wasn't a shadow but more an apparition. He also appears to be facing the two men, hence the contrasting facial features.

The more i look at the memorial pic, the more I think that "third shadow" is actually a reflection.
