Who's got an xterra?

Thinking of picking one up as a DD, any reviews?

A friend has one, not as a DD but an extra vehical. It's nice, I thought about getting one when I was looking for a new vehical, liked the Wrangler better.

Looked at an Xterra for the wife and bought her a 4Runner instead. More capable too I think. The rear diff has a factory locker. Wasn't expecting that!

My GF has an '03 SE and it's a great vehicle. I drive it all the time ... little lacking in the power department but for a DD it's not bad at all. Gets good mileage but not spectacular. No issues yet, so upkeep is low cost. Look for the supercharged model ... never driven one of them but I bet they're a blast.

Not the new one, but the ones shown above in the previous posts. I love them, really reminds me of a "Cherokee" aggressive and boxxy, always wanted one as a kid.

Is that ARB bumper for a ZJ?

Back on topic - my buddy's parents have one and it's pretty nice. I liked it.

My aunt and another woman I know both have Xterra's as DD's. My aunt has had two so far and loves them. The other woman also likes hers and it has enough room for her family since she has two young children.

I think they're sporty and a decent size. My aunt likes the amount of space hers has too and she does a lot of outdoor rec so she uses the roof rack often. IIRC it gets better gas mileage than the '01 (6 cylinder and stock) Grand Cherokee I had.

My brother in law has a 2001 he uses as a DD, and other than the A/C needing service, he's never had any problems with it.

Just a traveling cat in a tall black hat riding a goat. Nothing to see here.

I actually picked up an X after I sold my wrangler/ grand cherokee lemon issue...

I love it... gas isn't too shabby getting 17 city 21 highway about

I have a bike rack on it which I love the rack is nice and I use the basket a lot.
it's very capable on/ off road as well... I see it almost as a middle between a wrangler and grand cherokee

Has the off-road, "everything you need" aspect of a wrangler with the 4 door, hatch etc. of a grand cherokee..
I was lucky and mine has the rear LSD included, as well as higher 4.9 gears and front locker

It's easy to work on, installed a set of hellas and love the look, and overall it's a really great, reliable vehicle!
