Who is going to trade in their Jeep for a Chevy Volt??

Well according to what I have been hearing its definably going to happen, and be available around 2010. I hate to say it but im going to definably turn my back on my DD Cherokee and turn it into a trail rig if its financially possible and opt for the Volt as a DD, with it's range I can do all my of my daily commute on a few cents of electricity. What about you guys? My justification? Im already paying the eqivilent of 4.80 a gal in Canada, it can only get worse.

Nope, not giving up my Jeep or RAM. If any thing, I will buy a WK CRD and burn BioDiesel in it as I do in my RAM.

Since my Heep is paid off, no way. It doesn't make economical sense for me (or anyone else with vehicles paid off) to trade in a vehicle and get a new payoff, no matter the cost of fuel.

Ok, lets put "trade in" into the figurative sense, more so who wants to buy one to replace their jeep or in addition to it.

I will get rid of my JK when gasoline is outlawed in this country. I am already annoyed by the computerized complexity of my JK. I can about imagine how horrible that thing is.

I went to college for electrical engineering/computer engineering option and have extensive computer/electronics experience, so it's not that I am an anti-technology person.

Outlawed?? How about completely unfordable??? If gas hits the 2.50 a liter mark about 9.50 a gal, I simply won't make enough money to afford to drive to work. What are you going to do when it reaches that point for you? Thats why I think the volt is a good option

I'd buy one assuming a few things: it needs to be affordable and they sell it and not lease it like they did with the EV1's, I'm not renting a car.

but I like the looks of it, my jeep's already a trail rig/occasional use car so I'm all for it

I'd consider it. By the time I graduate college in 2012 and am ready to actually pruchase a new car, most of the kinks would probably be worked out of that thing.

I still plan on having a Jeep at that time, though; I just think that that car would be a decent DD*
