Try contacting these guys. . I bet they know. Also would help if
I knew what part of Michigan. Its a very big state.
I lived in Central Michigan for a while(around Big Rapids)
And I lived in Detroit area. there are places in both areas.

Down River huh. Well Ok I will tell you any way.
If you want to travel try going to northern Michigan
There is an old army firing range around Houghton Lake
Once you get in to town anyone can tell you how to get there
I used to hunt there and they have awesome trail everywhere.
You can also stop in almost any small town on the way up.
Contact DNR and get a list of public hunting lands and they will
also have a list of places accessible to vehicular traffic(4X4)
There are so many places to ride in central and northern Mi
It would take me the rest of my life to tell you all of them.
And I am sure I haven't been to half.
If you have time and you want to travel I suggest you just cruise the upper part of the state stay at some camp grounds and look for some trails. That is always fun.
Good luck.

There are some great trails in the Mt Morris Recreation Area, just north of Flint. Also a bunch of trails in the West Branch area. But one of the best in the state is my back yard, got hills, a swamp, sand, rocks and in the spring plenty of mud!

If you live in Michigan you must know of silver lake sand dunes. In the winter I like going to Camp Grayling in the city of Grayling. It is a National Guard training area. I have seen most of it one way or another and even while we are doing our drill's there are motorcycles and Jeeps everywhere. You might want a map which you can get at the PX. For more details just PM me.

Gotta be careful at grayling... everyone that went recently got tickets (on the michiganjeepers board) because they were climbing hills... which there were trails on -- but due to the fact a stock cadillac couldnt go up them they got tix (thats michigan law)... the mounds near mt morris is great for mud mud and mud... there arent really trails persay there are but well shoot over to MJ and check out the mounds pics and you would understand... moundsapalooza is feb 22... great jeeper get together and they do a cookout etc... information is over at MJ... there are a great amount of awesome trails in the UP... houghton i have heard is good -- but i have never taken the jeep there... i went there for a ski trip this winter and i LOVED the area... silver lake is cool -- but i think i saw you had your jeep there before... the LP is kinda 4x4 unfriendly but the UP has a great amount of them... and im sure there are some yoopers that would love to take a run...
