when do i stop calling it a jeep and start calling it a ford?

so far ive got a ford taurus fan,165 amp alt.from a ford, ford mc2150 carburetor, ford tfi upgrade, windsheild washer motor from a ford, rear view mirror from a ford and soon to be a ford 8.8 rearend and i think i may have read somewhere that the ford mustang seats were a pretty easy bolt on.i swear im going to get a ford grill logo and put on it and just call it a ford. anybody have any other ford mods i can go ahead and install?sad thing is i dont even like ford.

You don't, but there are a few things they do pretty well (like the axles, and I guess electric fans *shrug*).

Just don't start droppin' GM parts in there

You could also use a Ford E350 Brake system

You're just going back to your roots. Willy's, Bantam, and FORD all manufactured the first jeeps for the army.

The way I see it, it isn't Blasphemy because over the years Jeeps have been built with or owned by every one of the big three automakers. And ironically enough Jeep is now German owned.

I'd call it a Jeerd - You've still got a lot of Jeep in it

MPD is right though - my 67 CJ5 that I had in high school had a Buick 225 V6 in it

Well... hmmm,
Lets see,
Ford 9 inch in the rear (that doesn't sound very nice does it)
Ford Dana 44 in the front (don't we all wish for 44's)
Ford Transmission
Ford Transfer case
Ford disc brakes on all corners
Ford driveshafts
Ford power steering
Ford springs and suspension
Ford steering column (tilt)
(most all from early Bronco)
Was going to do a Ford 5.0 or a 351 Windsor but didn't want to deal with liscensing and emmissions... So "comprimised" with the 4.7 Stroker... ALL WORK VERY WELL...

its a leece neville alternator off a ford ambulance.its set up for low rpm high output and i believe they have heavier duty bearings and perhaps brushes then a normal alt. it bolted right in with no mods other then a new belt and the one i got had an external voltage regulator i had to mount.most of the newer models i believe are now built with internal regulators .i believe these alternators are put in most emergency vehicles like fire and rescue along with ambulances.they are about physicially twice the size of your normal alternator.they can be bought on ebay fairly cheap http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Leece-Neville-160-amp-Alternator_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33573QQitemZ 8062214523QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

actually isn't it chrysler that owns benz by like 2%? which might explain why benz is in the same boat as the big three?

Nope. Daimler Benz (Mercedes for all intensive purposes) merged with the Chrysler Corporation in 98 or 99. It is now called Daimler Chrysler and is based in germany
