Probably the scariest thing ever was the day i got the call from my ex josh.. he was screaming... Omg forget all that happened between us... its Trevor he's bleeding everywhere.. get over here...
So i hurry up jump in the jeep and head to Josh's... we had broken up several months before.. but i was still friends with his house mates Chris and Trevor... Trevor was a marine.. Josh worked for National City.. and Chris was a computer geek... Trevor hadn't been back from the sand box for real long... and i guess he had just found out they were sending him back for a third tour. Trevor didn't take it well i guess... so he shot himself in the neck... By the time i got there he had lost a ton of blood.. he barley had a pulse.. i remember yellin at Chris and Josh to call 911 one back and tell them we needed a chopper.. we didn't have time to wait the 45 minutes on the ambulance... I'll never forget pickin Trevor up in my arms.. as i was kneeling in a pool of his blood... trying to get it to stop... I finally got the bleeding under control... and we got a call back that they couldn't land the chopper any where closer than the highschool... so i some how managed to scoop Trevor up and carry him down and shove him in the back of my Jeep.. Chris drove us like a mad person to the football field where they landed the chopper... they took Trevor to agh in Pittsburgh... I honestly don't remember how i got to the hospital... but i guess when i was there i was such a mess i got them to let me scrub up and hold his hand during the surgery... I called his mom.. his parents live in Arizona.. they disowned Trevor whenever he joined the marines.. and she said well he isn't dead... sounds like ur taking care of him.. later... i don't think i ever cried so much...he wound up having 8 surgeries... it was horrible... The worst part... is Chris and Josh were in the process of moving... Chris had gotten an It job in Maryland.. and Josh had gotten a job in coporate in Kansas or somethin crazy like that... so i spent the next like 6 months livin at the hospital taking care of Trev whenever i wasn't working.. and i had to go pack all of his stuff out of the house.. and put it in storage.. and bring him home to live with me until the military decided what they were going to do with him... I won't go into that whole mess... but yeh... worst thing ever seing him like that

ha no... he pretty much became my big bro whenever me and Josh were together... and stayed that way even after we split... that whole thing obviously made us real close... but i still love him like a big bro... that day i came home and had to tell him bye because of what was happening since he was an active duty Marine at the time of the incident... was almost as hard as watchin him struggle to try and talk to me after all the surgeries...

My stories dont seem half bad compared to a lot of these. Two summers ago the day before I arrived at one of the bases for a 7 week course (where a lot of my friends already were) someone jumped off the 8th floor of the building. All my friends were really ****ed up from this. The guy landed on his face and a few people rapelled down to him. His whole face was flat and smashed in but he was still breathing for a bit. When he stopped they tried CPR but every time they pushed his chest they could hear and feel the bones moving around and they couldnt get a seal around his lips because his face was too screwed up.
Another not nearly as bad is my friend had her windpipe crushed in while fighting (guyfell back and hit her throat) instructor didnt seem to take it to serious but I ended up rushing her to the hospital in my jeep. Came in handy, I was worried so I was diving fairly fast and may have jumped a few medians and curbs. After being put on tylonal 3, another pain killer and then finally morphine, 2 cameras up her nose then down her throat, an mri and 3 days in the hospital she was given the all clear. Also scared myself turning around after picking her up. I had broken a sway bar and my jeep was new at the time so didnt know what it felt like to drive without sway bars. Anyway nailed the gas to pull a U turn in the parking lot and the whole front left side felt like it lifted up i thought for sure my front wheel was way up in the air and the look on her face was priceless. Most recent one was on the weekend. Had the worst fall ive had riding bikes. Fell at a decent speed and first thing to hit the ground was my back, and i landed on a big rock. Couldnt move right away and was just laying there in shock, then my friends who were watching started running down yelling at me not to move. Fortunatly I got really lucky, missed hitting my spine by about 6" although sore as hell at least im still walk (well hobbling) around right now

When I was in highschool I was an intern with my local PD and we responded to a shooting at a night-club. When we arrived they said the vicitm took off in his truck. We were able to track down his house and found his truck parked in the lawn, a pool of blood in the drivers seat. We followed the blood trail to the back lawn and found him sitting in a lawn chair, badly bruised and beaten with a quarter size hole in his side beneath the armpit. Keep in mind he was hispanic but his skin looked like white tissue paper. We called an ambulance and were walking him to the front yard when he collapsed and died right there on the sidewalk. The most unnerving part was when I got in the squad car to leave I saw that there was wet blood all over my hands, vest, shirt and pants.

Oh forgot the time I came within 15ft of being hit by lightning. Was out running getting ready for bassic and it was pissing down rain... which I love running in. Its 1130 at night so im super pumped to go for a run. And it was PISSING down rain. Within 20 sec (i actually checked my watch) I didnt have a single dry spot on me. Anyway, get about 3min into my run and all the sudden a huge flash was in front of my. The lightning had hit a power pole/wire/transformer and then travelled through the line. The line crossed the road less then 15ft infront of me and there was a sewer below it. I saw the lightning transfer from the line to the sewer and felt the electricty (the hair on the back of your neck thing... true.) At that point I decided that was a sign turned my *** around and sprinted back home. ****ed up my mp3 player too.

I just wanted to thank you guys/gals that serve in our armed forces and police/sheriff/fire. Man, the stuff yall see. I don't see how anyone can see stuff like that (people with a shotgun sticking through their head, faces flat, etc) without staying completely depressed all the time.

It takes a certain kind of detachment to deal with things like that on a regular basis and not have it affect you somehow. My job has me working in operating rooms and I observe all kinds of surgeries on a regular basis, but it's much different in that controlled environment. I can't even imagine being a first responder.

In 2002, after giving up the corporate life I landed my dream job as a zookeeper - taking care of the big cats no less. The gods smiled on me that day!! Anyway, we had a building with 2 sides - one side for the Indochinese tiger pair, and the other for the lion pair. The building had a very complicated set up with the gates and locks, and my training keeper made sure to show me every way I could screw up. We did not go in with our animals because our director believed, as I do, that wild animals will always be wild. Finally I was turned loose on my area to take care of my animals by myself. After about 2 weeks, I had been into the yards to do my cleaning and stuff, was finished, and had returned to the building to put my equipment away and leave. I went to the outside, lifted the gate for the lions to go back into the yard, and saw the female staring into the building which was weird because she can't see through doors, right? I walk back into the building, and realize I am about 20 feet away from the female lion - one of the 2 animals in that zoo who would kill for the sheer pleasure of it - with no door between us. I had forgotten to shut the door.
I cannot tell you what went through my mind, my body and my heart at that moment. Even she was in shock! One of the first rules of being a keeper is to never run, but at that moment the only thing I distinctly remember is, "Your fixing to die." I gave a brief thought to running towards the door to shut it, but knew she would beat me to it. At that moment, we both reacted - I bolted for the outside door while she ran in. I slammed the door behind me just as she hit the bars, then I promptly leaned over into the grass and puked. Another rule of zookeeping is the public's safety is priority, so I was able to keep her contained. It took some maneuvering, but we got her back outside with no harm done and me back on probation. I never told my family about that or the other incidents I encountered because I never wanted them to worry. But I can still feel that buzz, that twang as you look into the eyes of a big cat who thinks you'd make a neat playtoy and snack. I went on to being a keeper for alligators too and used to love to catch them - once as I was waist deep in water with it almost getting rolled. I miss that job more than anything...... |

I just watched Texas Chain Saw Massacre: The Beginning last night at the theater. Holy crap
this was by far the goriest movie I have ever seen. I've watched the other movies in the series and they are in no way close to the scene after scene gore fest in this prequel. I don't want to ruin the movie for anyone planning to see it, but I was pretty disappointed. I usually enjoy mild horror flicks, war films, etc... but this was above and beyond freaky. Not as much scary, but real damn gory.

some of you guys have been through some crazy sh*t...
i cant compare with my story, but it was enough to scare me. i was driving my captain to a staff meeting one night during a field training exercise while in the army serving in korea. he was running late so he had me take a back road, unknown to me at the time. i get him to the meeting at the battalion tent and he tells me to come back for him in 2 hours. instead of taking the route back the way i knew, i decided to re-use this "short cut" he showed me.keep in mind, this is field training so im driving in "blackout drive" in my humvee with night vision goggles on for training purposes.... in other words you can hardly see anything a few feet in front of your face. within a few minutes im fairly lost but continue trying to find my way back to our company area. also keep in mind its during "monsoon season" so im driving through plenty of mud and its freezing balls. i ended up driving off a small drop i didnt even see and rolling about 3 times, coming to a rest on the driver side. given the position, EVERYTHING inside the vehicle came to rest on top of me and i was basically pinned underneath it. unable to move my left arm for it was pinned under me and all the crap on top of me, and my right arm was in some great pain i was screwed. a million thoughts come to mind. in what seemed like an eternity i laid there for an hour stranded, freezing my *** off. literally what seemed like out of nowhere, a pair of headlights shine in through the busted windshield onto me and 2 middle aged or older korean men are approaching me. they yell at me in their native tongue, which were only taught the VERY basics of the language so i have no idea what they said. they drive off and leave me to die, so i think....WHAT THE FU*K!!?? they possibly saved my life as im sure i would have frozen to death. i later learned they found the closest camp, spoke to a couple of the KATUSA (korean augmentee soldiers) about finding me and a search and rescue was sent for me per the directions of the two korean men. upon finding me, i had to be cut out of the humvee, airlifted to the main hospital in Seoul with a broken arm, dislocated knee and moderate dehydration. quite the experience... |

well this one is kinda freaky i guess, me and some buddies decided to go wheelin one night, there was about 10 of us, me in my tj, a friend in her rubicon unlimited, my buddy in his huge lifted dodge 2500 4x4, and another buddy in a stock 2500
4x4, well we were wheelin and havin a good time and what not, and we came across some druggies in an xj, well one of my buddies decides hes gona be funny and get on my friends johns pa and say its the cops, he does this and it scars the hell out of the people in the xj, they put it in reverse and floor it dodging about 5 trees it was pretty amazing, but they finally hit one last tree and it spun them around and into a water/mud hole and it completely killed the jeep and they couldnt start it, so we were like ok lets go help them, we all go over to them and the driver of the xj get out and pulls off all his clothes down to his boxers, he grabs our tow hooks and hooks them up to his jeep, this is where it gets bad, as my buddy john is hoping back into his truck (keep in mind hes a bigger guy) he somehow falls and tears his acl, damn so we put him in my jeep, one of my buddies drives his truck and gets the xj out, well when we pull out the people in the xj the two guys that were in there hop out and they just start to fight right there, they were on the ground punchin and yellin and we were all like wtf? ok so we break them up and then they go back to bein friends again wtf? then the guy decides he is gonna strip so he then takes off all his clothes and everyone was sitting there going what the hell is going on, ok well their truck was still broke, and there was a girl in there so we asked if she wanted a ride somewhere, and she was all cracked out and tweakin and sh!t, so we couldnt comprehend what she was sayin, well they started pullin out more weed and we were like uh we wont give u rides if yall have that crap so u can put it out and come or stay and continue being crack heads, well needless to say they stayed, so we were like lets get the hell out of here befor they do something to us, and we did, so thats my story.
