What's the deal with bacon?
Now I like a strip or two of bacon every now and then, but I'm really more of a sausage person myself. I like sausage on pizza, in omlets, just plain cooked, in the form of polish sausage or kilbasa. There are excellent Italian pasta dished with sausage, German dishes with sausage, heck there is even some really tasty Mexican food with sausage in it (there is choritos, mmmmmm) .
Why oh why is bacon put on such a pedestal by you guys/gals? ![]()

We enter the zone of impressive numbers when we consider the onetime cost of the 1996 floods ($27 billion, but still cheaper than the 1998 floods), the annual direct losses due to desertification ($42 billion), and the annual losses due to water and air pollution ($54 billion). The combination of the latter two items alone costs China the equivalent of 14% of its GDP each year." - Jared Diamond, Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed |

I like them, but I always feel REALLY bad after eating them, so I don't anymore. As a matter of fact, I mostly stick to white/lean meats now... Here's my man card. *hands it over*
