What should I offer

There is a sealed auction at my girlfriends dad work for an 03 chevy 3500 with an 8 ft plow and stainless-steel sander truck has a gas V8 and only 13,111 miles, they are hard miles though. The leasing company will not take it back so they are selling it. It needs new brake lines and the sander has some surface rust, so I am told, but I am confused since it is stainless-steel. I was told that there was one guy interested who does not have money so I was thinking of throwing in a bid of $2525.25 something like that. I will not be in tears if I do not get it I would do some work to it then sell it. Any ideas on what it is really worth and what I should offer? bidding closes Friday

Was your bid, that you were thinking about offering, a typo? I can't imagine it going for that cheap; hard miles or not. Christ, I sold my 17 year old Jeep for more then that.

No typo there. There is a very small volume that will see this add and most do not have spare money. Like I said one guy who is interest has no money so we are thinking he will throw in a very small bid hoping no one else bids. They sold a 2000 pick up just like this 3 years ago for $4500. The reason i said $2525.25 is just in case some one offers something like $2500 I will be above them.

Why does a 5 year old vehicle need new brake lines?

It was a plow/sander and did not get driven much thus break lines are rusting, they are not gone yet but starting to rot.

I was thinking higher, but I am ridiculously greedy and if I put in a higher bid and find out that I could of got it for the bid I put I would be furious. Then again even if I get it I will be mad because I could of gotten it for less, and if I don't get it and it goes for a slightly higher price then I will still be mad. It is hard being me, but I can only hope I win it by like 25 cents

O and I do not even have that much money floating around, I am going to have to borrow it if I do win and I am not sure how much my dad will shell out

why not bid it? I mean if you get it great, if not, no biggie. Unless you really wanted it, I see no reason to bid any higher.

It sounds like you and the other interested party have the same strategy, since neither of you has any money! You better hope you're a bigger cheapskate than he is!
