What should I get Palm Pre or HTC Hero?

I am going to sprint tonight and get me a new phone. I was pretty set on the Pre but now I am not 100% anymore.

I trust you all on helping me fix my YJ so why not help me decide which phone to get. HTC Hero or Palm Pre?

Thanks!!

I have a Pre and hate it.

I am getting ready to swap in the phone for my third one because the speaker keeps blowing out, a common problem from what I have read.

We have a bunch of them here at work and nearly everyone has trouble with them freezing and having to take out the battery to re-boot.

Several of them can not email picture attachments.

There is some weird email error that pops up and the only way to fix it is to delete and re-enter the account information

My brother has the Hero. He seems to like it, but his has some dust in the upper right hand corner underneath the screen; heard that's a common problem with them too.

I played with it a little bit and it was pretty sweet (but considering I have the Rumor, pretty much any new phone would be sweet to me )

LOL I had the iphone 3g. I just traded it for a PS3 120GB. lol

The iphone is nice BUT multitasking is non existent on it. I used it for XM radio and when I get a text, I reply and BAM music is gone.

Thanks for the replies... still a hard choice.

Just thought of another Pre issue. Sometimes it will get hot and start chewing up battery like crazy. You have to remove the battery to stop whatever that problem is too.

my friend has had a pre since christmas. Loved it at first, then started having stupid problems like it wouldnt charge, wouldnt turn on all the way, and wouldnt turn off without taking out the battery.

Id go with the HTC Hero.

I don't have sprint, but the hero is the same as the droid eris. My other half has the eris and loves it and my cousin has the hero and loves it.

I'm a service tech for Sprint and I have to say, I see more Pre's then any other smart phone. They have issues with battery, screen cracking, touchscreen failure, OS problems, and others. As for the Hero, I only see them in the shop for user error and they are just fun to use as long as you don't mind the on screen keyboard.

I got the HTC Pure and it's a really nice phone.

You should be happy with the HTC Hero as long as it's as good as the Pure.
