What the heck kinda Jeep is this?

I've been looking for a project Jeep for quite a while and keep getting screwed. This weekend I came across this CJ. Anybody got any idea what it is? Nobody was there so I couldn't get any info. It's a 2WD and it's got a 4-cyl. DIESEL engine.

It looks like an old Air Force ramp jeep - was used to move airplanes around.

whoa, very cool, too bad it's 2wd. I'd be pretty cool to tow a trail rig with it tho.

That is exactly what it is. There was an article in either Peterson's or Fourwheeler magazine a few years ago where a guy bought one of those. He completely rebuilt and modified it, and it ended up being a feature vehicle in the rag.

Uuuummmmmmm, project vehicle. If only my garage had room for it! Buy it! Convert it to a 4wd. Swap in a 350 if on a budget, or a crate 4.3L vortec6. Advanced Adpters sells stand alone harnesses for the vortec engines. Flat fender it, flat bed it, stretch the wheel base, dual D60's.........

Okay I gotta stop.

The CJ4 was a concept vehicle that didn't make production. Now just figure out where the CJ10 went. Later <><
