what have you lost while driving?

whats the worst thing you've lost while driving your jeep with the top off? I've had papers and homework from school fly out, and just the other day i got home and swore my cell phone fell out of my pocket while i was driving, anyone else lost anything of value?

I bought a pizza, picked it up and drove home. I set it in the passenger seat.

I have my doors off. Made the mistake of taking a corner too fast. Out goes the pizza.

I just kept driving.

I am an idiot.

Thats exactly why I don't deliver pizzas with the doors off, though I wish I could on some days. I haven't lost anything major, hats, papers. Have had some close calls though with things in the back almost flying out on the highway. I did once lose a large tuperware container outta the back of my Ranger. Was driving down I-40 in NC, coming back from a catering delivery and the container flew outta the back. It landed on the ground uprite, but by the time I realized what had happened a car hit it and it disentigrated into millions of tiny pieces.

My entire front axle. Literally.

65 MPH on the highway and the Dana 30 decides it doesnt want to hang out with me anymore. Off it comes and in the dirt I go.

Let me know next time you hit the road. I can always use some sporting gear and tools .

I have a bad habit of leaving my coffe on the roof, only to hear it fall over when I take off .

my soft top.

it decided we were going too fast and wanted to take a break, so it ended up about 1/2 mile down the road before I could ask it to wait for the next stop.

nothing yet, but with the doors off on the interstate last week, I was stuck in a traffic jam and picked up a really nice framing hammer on I-75!

After nearly ten years in my TJ I am usually pretty good about securing stuff in the Jeep. I have had a few papers fly over the years. The boiled down sum of my decade of crap flying out of the Jeep knowledge is this. Caribbeaners are your best friend. Strap it or lose it.

My lunch flew out the passenger door one day taking a turn. My new box clips to the seatbelt.

My Police radio flew off the passenger seat when I hit a bump while taking a turn. I was still under probation at the time (nearly ten years ago). Fortunately, I was and am the guy who fixes the radios, and the only person who had to know about it. That story is now part of my "new guy lecture". Now the radio goes in the armbox. I can't hear it with the top and doors off anyway.

I used to have a handheld CB. I was out wheelin' on an off camber ledge. It was clipped to the drivers visor. Somehow it flew off and landed about a hundred feet down. We never found the remains. Now I have a fixed mounted unit.

A pair of Oakleys

Countless CD's

A jacket.

Too many ball caps

I am sure I have forgot a few things
