Well, it's a bit more complicated than that...
Belgium is a kingdom, it's about as large as an average farm in Texas.... and we have 2 kings (1 retired), 3 queens (2 retired) and lots of princes and princesses.
On top of that, we have 3 governments (1 for the southern part, 1 for the northern part and one for the center part) Each part has a minister-president, and lots of ministers for all kind of responsabilities. Then we have 9 provinces, each with their own governor and government.
This whole establishment costs us the equivalent of a few million Grand cherokees per year, paid by the good ol' taxpayer.
But it's not done yet. Belgium is part of the European Union, which has a governement and a president (Herman Van rompay is his name). And each month this government settles in Straatsbourg or Brussels, which is the capital of the EU. So they move the whole circus all the time between Straatsburg and Brussels.... This European government and the circus costs us the equivalent of a few billion Grand cherokees , all payed by the same ol' taxpayer...
Do you understand now, why gasoline costs 10 times as much over here than in the US ?
