What compares to Battlefield 2

In my quest to become a teenager again I want to find a new game in the same style of Battlefield
2............... What newer games are there that are similar to BF2 in the graphics and play dept...............

World War II online.

Hands down the best WW2 game out there.

It's played on a full 1/2 scale map of europe, the battles last for weeks, not minutes. Thousands of people in game at any one time on each side, all playing on the same map against each other. You're in town xx and someone tells you to come help in town yy, you need to find a truck, because you'll need to drive there, no teleporting crap. It adds the whole "fear of death" component into the game as you work ahard to acheive something/get somewhere, dying in 2 minutes sux. So by making it tougher, you have to play smarter. Unlike BF2, you don't die, jump right back in to die again. It make is MUCH more intense, you heart will be pounding hoping you don't die.

You can play as inf, navy, air, tanker, trucker, etc. or switch between them. 25+ different planes, 30+ differnt tanks and trucks (no Jeeps yet, it's historically accurate and in 41, Jeeps came in 43) The physics models are right on, speed around a corner in a truck, you push off the road, flip and die. Each type has ranks, the whole community is set up just like it was in WW2. You start as grunt cannon fodder and work your way up. The game has a lot to offer as it plays to many different types of people. Some like the 1st person shooter stuff, some like driving or being a tanker, some like artillery, some like tactical or strategic stuff, and some like leading. Me, I liked the behind the lines stuff, sneaking into airfields etc.

I played it off and on for about 4 years, tons of fun, but it will eat a lot of your time. I gave it up for a bit recently because I needed to focus my time on other stuff for a while.

The game has a big learning curve, but if you stick with it for 3-4 days, you;ll pick it up.

It's like BF2 to the tenth power, it's huge.

Damn, that game looks great. Exactly the type of game I have been looking for. Unfortunately I just don't think my puter could handle it, and my connection just couldn't support that. Damn.

Hey Richmond..Whats was your name on WWIIOL? I played that from release in June or was it July ? 2001- mid 2003. My screenname was VERMONT.

I used to fly for TOT (Axis) as a Stuka pilot..

BlahBlah.....what are you using console or PC? I just gave up continually trying to upgrade my PC and picked up an Xbox360 a week ago
