What Is Best In Life?

Remember when Conan was asked, "What is best in life?"
He answered, "To crush your enemies , see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women!"

Although the Barbarian brings up a few practical points, I prefer the simpler pleasures.
Like bacon on a chilly morning while camping.
What does it for you?

Driving during a snow storm in the mountains at night. Yea I know I'm weird but that makes me smile.

You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?

I'm really a big fan of waking up down at camp on a cold November morning before we go out deer hunting. The grandfather roaming around the kitchen making breakfast consisting of BACON, home fries, eggs, and toast. Really makes me feel peaceful

Chokes, armbars, kimuras, americanas, sweeps, escapes. Mount, back mount, side control, knee on belly, full guard, half guard, open guard. Sweat, blood, bruises, pain. Victory, defeat and everything in between.

I second the weird guy, except we don't have mountains, just hills.

Rolling down a road in the Jeep, top and doors off, stereo blasting music...that is my zen.

Sun Day: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f7/its-sun-day-384267/

And also everything about the 'waking up in camp with bacon' thing, except minus the deer hunting, and plus the wakeboard boat anchored a few feet offshore in a dead-calm lake. (and not in November)

And standing on top of a mountain after a couple days of incredibly hard work trying to get there.

And powder days.

And putting the last piece of wood in the woodshed and feeling ready for a big winter.

And getting home from work on the bike and hearing the pitter-patter of two-year-old feet ripping across the house upstairs coming to meet me.

We went camping over the weekend among an elk herd, about 98 of them. It was just so cool.

Ditto x100. Only mine is 4 and makes my day when I hear Hi Daddy right before he climbs on my feet to get in my arms.
