What about this Passport crap?

Why in the hell are we going to have to have a passport to fly in from neighboring countries when the mexicans can still just stroll in here without anything? Does anyone see the sense in enforcing this law, or even enacting it int the first place, when we don't even have control of our borders?

Its like putting a metal detector in your front door, while you just have a screen door at the back.

There can be no fifty-fifty Americanism in this country. There is room here for only 100% Americanism, only for those who are Americans and nothing else.

I agree, anyone who is actually coming in illeagally will still get in, all you do is put more hassle on the average joe. I have lived my entire life in a border community. I cross the border into the states just to save $0.10/litre on gas, drink cheap liquor/save $2 on cheese and because US walmart has better stuff. I used to cross the border several times a day (went to univeristy in neighbouring US city) with just my drivers license. I fail to see how passports are going to stem illeagal crossings when there are miles of open borders between Canada and the US. Hell our border here is a river and people cross it in the winter on snowmachines all the time just to meet an American buddy, or smuggle some cheap booze back to Canada. The cost of having passport verification for all border crossings is said to be huge. What a waste of money. We don't have Mexicans in Canada so I can't comment on that .

This has nothing to do with illegals.

It's about time that the US enforces the use of passports. I understand that we live in a free society and are used to certain priveleges, but we have to come to understand that certain things need to be tightened up. I know this issue really is not going to deter any determined terrorist/smuggler from getting into our country, but this loophole needed to be closed anyway. It's not a big deal anyhow, since everyone should have a passport just for convenience. IMO.

It's simply useless to argue on the interwebs. It's akin to arguing with a toddler. Doing so only makes you look silly and they always poop their pants.

Lol, that will never be a problem, the cold keeps them away. Its the same thing with homeless. They don't exist in many parts of Canada because they would never survive winter. -30 celcius and homeless don't mix.
