In my rugby days of yore, we used to spray it on our joints along with using DMSO many moons ago.

Sucked water into your cylinders?

- Pull Plugs
- Crank engine to spit water outer of cylinders
- Suck excess water out of intake manifold
- Spray a TON of WD-40 down the intake, and into each cylinder
- Crank some more, and let the WD displace the water (also helps prevent cylinders from rusting up)
- Once you are sure all water is gone, install plugs, try and start engine
- It will be hard starting, and will run like crap for a few minutes
- If all is well and you didn't hydro-lock a cylinder, you should be good
- Change engine oil

A WD-40 soaked rag will clean the hull of a boat of ocean salt and/or that green crap that builds up.

Then it will act like sex wax the next time you are on the water.

It has a number of uses but unfortunately, it's not even a so-so lubricant. What little lubrication ability it has quickly evaporates within a few days. And if you spray it over a previously well lubricated part, it will often rinse (WD-40 is technically a solvent) the old lube off and leave it worse off than it was.

It's great to chase water out of electrical connections (even the alternator) on the Jeep and that's all use it for.

It works poorly as a 'personal lubricant'.

I love how this thread was mainly serious while it was in TJ tech but as soon as it gets moved to GD, the first post is this.

Those of you with stainless steel kitchen appliances.....

spray a very light coat on the appliance and rub it very well witha soft cloth.

works quick and easy once you get the hang of how much to spray! and wiping fingerprints off is easier than ever once you start using it

-Erik <--- sprays it all over his SS appliances!
