Warning About 4wheel Parts
Heres the scoop. I order the Fabtech front bumper in black on the 3rd, for 326.00 shipped to my door. After I ordered it I had a call come back from a earlier inquiry. They said they would ship it to my door for 280.00. So I called 4wheelparts back. After making me jump through hula hoops they finally offered me the difference. Ok.
I got the bumper on thursday after work. Went to put the bolts in place hmmmm they dont line up with my holes on my frame. Gee they are closed at this time of the day. I call first thing Friday morning, gentleman says he will call Fabtech and see whats going on. Waited all day. He calls me back as he is walking out the door for the night and tells me that fabtech wants me to call them. I guess after they were closed or something. So I was pretty pissed for them to blow me off for the whole weekend. I call Fabtech this morning and he asked me a few questions, he says they have had a few problems with the 03's and he said that I could drill the holes out or I need to go ahead and return it and get my money back. I want to return it cause a bumper at that price should line up. I call 4wheel back and tell them what Fabtech said. They said ok, told me how much im getting back would be 220.00, I am like I paid 326.00. They want to charge me shipping plus a 15% restock fee for am item that is listed to fit 97-04 Jeep Wrangler, but would not fit my 03 wrangler. I tried to talk to them and tell them that isnt right, and poor customers service, all he can do is waive the retock fee. I ask for his boss, whom is the store manager. I got nowhere with this guy. He says that he couldnt do anything. So I gave in and said ill pay for the shipping to my house as long as you pay for to to be shipped back, he says ok but ill have to charge you the restock fee then. I dissagreed with this guy until he became very, I mean very rude and smart mouthy to me and basicly said they im screwed and ill have to deal with it, the customer is not always right, they are a million dollar company so who cares about one complaint. I told him that I would never purchase another item from his company, and that I would post this to my club and all the other clubs that I am in contact with. He smerked and said he doesnt care. I got so pissed about how he was being a smart mouth. that I asked for his boss and he laughed about it and QUOTE "Sure you can have is number, but its like trying to call Bill Gates at Microsoft, you will never get ahold of him." My whole thing is that the first customer service rep said that there was a note attacthed to the Fabtech Bumper that states modification for the 03up year. Why didnt they say that when I ordered it. Because I wouldnt have bought it. If I got it and didnt liek it, ok charge me, but come on it didnt even fit my Jeep. Please tell me if I am in the wrong here, or if what I did was wrong. By the way I did file a complaint with the Better Business Burea.

It is BS that they want to charge you.... but.... when you buy after market parts thing may need modified.. You said for the money it should fit and I agree but if you like the bumper??? Modify it.. It will still work as you want it to and you don't get burned.... It's just part of Jeeping....
I also will not use 4WP…. They do nothing to help….. Never ask them something without Year, Make, Model…

From what I hear at my local shop a lot of Fabtech stuff doesn,t fit right without customization-grinding/drilling etc.Might be best to look to another manufacturer.

I would never order something without using a credit card. The card companies are more than happy to reverse the complete charges, if you give them a call and explain the situation. I have done it before in similar circumstances.

It seems as if no one at 4wheel parts knows what they are doing, wants to help, or even cares. I have reluctantly bought several things fron them but have had to check behind them a few times only to find out that the original sales guy ordered the wrong wheels. I just happened to stop by the store and talked to a different sales person and asked about the order and when he checked on it i had to specifically ask what wheels were ordered, they were wrong so he fixed the order while i was still there. The last time i was going to order something from them was going to be new gears and a super 35 kit but when the sales person wanted to argue with me that my jeep(95 wrangler) could have either regular or reverse rotation dana 30 in the front i just said ok and called Randys ring and pinion.

4 wheel parts SUCKS!!!!!
4 wheel parts wholesalers suck. This is not the first story I've heard of -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=ty customer service and rude *******s running the show. However, Fabtech is good stuff, just unfortunate that you got it through 4 wheel parts.
Deal with a company like 4wd hardware if you can, you can order stuff and just send it back for full refund if you need. And their tech department and customer service is absolutely stellar in my dealings with them over the past 10 years of working on my CJ7. jeepmor |

Fabtech may be to blame more than 4WP. Sometimes manufacturers will not do enough homework to learn about model year changes that DC makes and not label there products accordingly.
It sounds like an easy problem to solve by just drilling the new holes. I had to drill some extra holes to install my Currie bumper and it total it took about an hour to put on. Just make sure to drop the gas-tank enough to access the crossmember. Good luck with whatever you decide. |

I have dealt with 4WP about 5 times and I haven't had any problems. The counter guys aren't usually that knowlegeable but they seems to be willing to help.

I've had two friends of mine that ordered wheels and ended up getting the wrong BS on them. 4wheel Parts guys tried the same routine with them, but both times eventually ate the S/H and the Restock because my friends had the reciepts showing the part numbers with the right BS.
They were in the wrong and they couldn't talk thier way out of it. I personally will NEVER use them.

A couple of things that make me question there integrity.
1- Free shipping (yea right) when the handling fee is more than enough to cover shipping costs. 2- Remember a while back they ran a special advertising a trail covers but "sorry No picture available". Trail cover - covers the entire cab right? Wrong. Yes the box said trail cover but it was more commonly known as a bikini top. Did they not have a pic for this very reason? I won't order there. |

That is really great! It's nice to see us little guys win one for a change!
I think that is one of the best things about the Net, it gives us a great way to get the word out and change things for the better. |

Yeah, i'm going the catalog route from now on when I need parts for my YJ. I have only bought one thing from 4wheelparts. I bought a Bestop RAT. Didn't have one in stock so I ordered it there. Gave them specific instructions to put on the shipping label because I live in the woods and it's hard to find. The guy said three days...Four days went by and no top...I called FedEx and they said I couldnt track without a tracking number...called 4wp...they can't give me a tracking number (why not? company policy) So I FINALLY got 4wp to call FedEx for me and it came almost a week later...Not using them again. Only thing i will go to them for is the once a year swap meets. Quadratec, ACME, Turner 4WD (thejeep.com) and eBay will be getting my mod parts business. Later <><

I hate 4WP. They never have anything in stock and generally don't know what they're talking about.
Why have a storefront when you're not going to stock the most commonly asked for items on the most popular vehicle in your local area?
