Anybody know anything about Dagger kayaks? I like this one http://www.dagger.com/catalyst-13-0 . There is a retailer not far from where I live. It seems like you get a lot for the price, around $800. I like the storage it has and from the reviews I read it handles great. What are other peoples thoughts?

I have the same boat; the Tarpon 120. It rocks, except it's a wet ride. My next boat will be solo canoe or a Native Ultimate 12.

Tom can get you a boat to your door cheaper than you can buy it from your neighbor. He's about two hours from me and this place is amazing.

Lots to read here: www.riversmallies.com
The favorite for the Susquehanna is the Tarpon 120.

I dont know anything about the daggers, but i do have a 13 foot old town cayuga. Its a perfect size for day trips or overnighters with the front and back storage. Not to bad maneuvering it in smaller rivers either, but yet tracks great. it also has a comfy seat.

When you do get your kayak definitely plan a trip to Ricketts Glen State Park and spend a day on Lake Jean.

Check out paddling.net for lots of reviews on kayaks and canoes.

I have to put 3 times on the wilderness systems. I also have a pamlico 120, it tracks nice and does good on class waters as well.

I have had two kayaks. One was an Ocean Kayak Frenzy and the other was a slim yellow, ready to fish yak (forget the brand). I think the ocean kayak is the best. Reason is because the slimer one tiped easy. I flipped in the ocean and lost my paddles. The Ocean Kayak is easy to use, harder to tip and can likewise be equipped to fish.

Probably don't want to spend the cash on a Kayak like this but I tested one out once and it is a pretty amazing Kayak. Coolest part is it fits in a golf bag travel case. The skin is super tough too they let me try to cut through it with a knife. It also is the only adjustable Kayak available can curve the profile for tight cornering and maneuverability or straighten it out so it tracks real nice. You can also adjust it for going into a wind so it tracks straight. Very very neat Kayak. I would have one if it wasn't so damn expensive.

I'd like to get a kayak for freshwater and inshore saltwater fishing (back bays or close to the beach for stripers, blues, weakfish ect). I'd prefer to buy one used to keep the cost down and don't mind adding rod holders and storage myself. I don't carry much stuff, a milk crate and two rod holders will do it for me.

What's a good one to look for?

I hunt ducks and fish and float up to classII rapids in my old town predator kII. Lots of add-ons, decent storage, tracks ok, and hauls my big *** everywhere. think i spent 750$.
