VW 2.5 question

First off, I know this is a JEEP Forum.

Second, it's the only automotive forum I have faith in.

Which is why I'm asking this question.

My wife has a 2012 Passat with the 2.5 (5 cyl) engine. It's still under warranty, so services are done at the dealer. Today she went, the service guy told her that the spark plugs need to be changed every 40K miles.

I can't believe that this is accurate. I'll check the owner's manual when I get home, but does anyone that has experience with VW's shed some light on this?

Thanks

Just a traveling cat in a tall black hat riding a goat. Nothing to see here.

Damn! Thanks for the quick response. I think they quoted her ~$370.

If I do that myself, do I screw the warranty?

Vw's warranty is 3yrs/36k to be honest I wouldn't own a vw after the warranty expires you can do it yourself but vw would want you to use oem parts and keep the receipts
