Someone hit my driver's side mirror and smashed the glass (and took off)....everything else is fine. Can I just have the glass replaced or am I going to have to pay for a new mirror?

Im interested in this too same thing happened to my passenger side only problem is i like the glass saying jeep with as simple as the wranglers mirrors are i would think it would pop out somehow but im just not sure how.

I never have replaced a mirror in the Jeep, although I think I haven't paid more than $15 or $20 for the mirror itself on previous vehicles.

If it does end up being pretty expensive http://www.car-part.com/ may have your answer. It's a nation wide seach of used auto parts. They have a '97 drivers side mirror, with housing, in my area for $28. I'm sure it wouldn't differ too much between regions.

I have been down this road before. I was borrowing a tj from a buddy while he was out of town. Sort of a long term test drive. . .

Anyway, there was an incident, and the passenger mirror was shattered. After a few days of painstaking searh, I was unable to locate a replacement for strictly the glass. I was short on time, and couldn't track down the whole mirror locally and ended up getting gouged roughly $108 from the stealership. Take the time to track it down from a used auto place, it's the only way. . .
