It was all lined up but the recrutier started changing dates because "stuff" came up so I never made it to meps. Plus I decided that the recent changes in my life would be worth staying, so I didnt go see another recruiter.

If I were you, I would have stuck with the Army.
I'm in Army DEP, going in as an 11B (basic infantry grunt) but only for the infantry experience... within a few years, I'll be right where I want to (18C... Special Forces engineer). And I get a big fat early-signing bonus, which right now is set at $15k but it keeps going up and up. The Corps is too small for that.
I was looking at the Marines for a while, but I just compared them side by side, the MOS's I wanted, their training, the overall service structure, career outlooks (this is gonna be a career for me, not just a 3 or 4 year stint), etc., and I definitely like the Army better. One of the bigger selling points for me is that the Army guarantees you your MOS, whereas the Corps can't because of how they operate. An example would be if you join the Army wanting to fly a helo, you'll end up flying a helo. If you join the Marines looking to be a pilot, then maybe in 5 years or so you'll get to clean up the cockpit after flights. I'm not trying to bash the Marines here, it's just the way they operate... they put you where THEY need you.
And that's why if you ask a 60 year old retired Marine what they did with they're life, they'll tell you "I was a Marine!"
But if you ask a 60 year old retired soldier what he did with his life, he'll tell you his MOS, cause he got the one he wanted and was happy with it.

Ever checked out the Air Force Pararescue?
Despite what I think about the Air Force, those guys deserve some credit.

Why not go 21B and get the Engineer experience?

Good luck! You will need it with having Obama as your boss.

Well, the main reason I'm going for the engineer slot is because I'd have more fun with it than I would being the SF comms specialist, rather than a strong desire to be an engineer. I was only interested in those two because I can't be the team leader coming straight from the enlisted ranks, I can't be a medic right away and have no interest in being one, and the weapons specialist has to haul crap like an 80lb mortar tube into the field and learns nothing in their specialty training that they wouldn't learn after a short time in the field anyway.

I'm going to Airborne School right after Basic and AIT, and then I'll be with the Rangers for probably 8 months or so, then I'm thinking about doing some sort of recon for a while before SF. Like I said before, I was choosing between talking on the radio and blowing crap up... of course I chose Engineer , but it's not my main goal whatsoever.

And for that reason I was thinking of getting out as fast as I can and hitching up with a PSC... but then again, Obama won't be influencing JSOC nearly as much as the rest of the military.

The Marine corps actually has great bonuses right now. I had 3 03's reenlist just a few months ago and they each got 48,500 then another 20,000 on top of that if they stayed in the operating forces for another 2 years.
