Un-Jailbreaking my iPhone

Yep, the ooo's and ahh's and bells and whistles have all ran their course. I've decided to go back to normal. Really the only thing I'll miss is free apps from installous but other than that, I don't care. Im not an apple fanboy by no means and would NEVER own anything else made by apple simply because I dont like the limitations and I don't want to overpay just for an apple logo. Don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone, but i could easily do without if I wanted to

I'm thinking of doing the same. My phone has been really unstable since I started modding. Then again, it's getting pretty beat up and I may just get a new phone soon anyway.

I jailbroke my old 3GS that's running 4.0.1 just to see what all the fuss was about. It's cool and all but I don't think I'm going to jailbreak my iPhone 4, iOS alone has enough to keep me happy.

well, i downloaded an app called "springvibe".....bad idea. I had to use iphone browser to get rid of it because it kept causing a dialog box to pop up constantly and literally couldn't do anything on my phone. Not saying all Cydia apps are like that, but you have to be careful with some of the cracked stuff

I have mine jailbroken and unlocked, but really only for the purpose of using the iPhone with a non-iPhone SIM card. Works great for me...

Not sure if it makes a difference, but what phone does everyone have and what did everyone use to jailbreak the phone? I have a 2G with 3.1.3 and I used PwnageTool.

I just jailbroke my 3gs so that I could send it to my friend in Germany unlocked so she can use it on T-Mobile. I just used the jailbreakme website from the iPhone and it was ridiculously easy. I think the only tricky part will be for her to set up the apn settings since everyone seems to give different directions for doing it. I have no plan to jailbreak my iPhone 4. It would be nice to have Facetime work on 3G and also tethering but i don't really use internet when I use my laptop out of the office anyways.

To change the APN, go to http://www.unlockit.co.nz/ from the phone. It lets you select your carrier and press one button and it changes the APN accordingly. It can be undone from the settings menu on the phone.

THANKS!! I am glad you mentioned that website. That was the website I told my friend to try when she gets the phone in Germany. I am glad I did not send her in the wrong direction. The firmware did not seem to let me modify the apn settings in the network screen but that website should probably do the trick. Thanks again
