Um what?

is Guy2 right?

Guy1: Anyway I got a 1992 S10 Blazer. Sat for 2 years so it needs all the fluids done, new air filter, fuel filter, tires and the rear bump needs to be fixed, but for free it's a great deal.

Guy2: i wouldnt keep the stock rims, or new tires on those rims, those rims are crappy as ****.

another important thing to do is make sure all your lightbulbs, high beams, brake lights, turn signals, thats a great way to aviod getting pulled over or get in an accident

Guy1: No way am I'm busting out money for new rims, I don't have the money and they are fine for now. Checked the bulbs, everything works except the left turn signal flasher on the dash board. The check engine light was on when I first started it up, but may guess is it just had to run it's cycle and now it's off. For a truck that wasn't touched for 2 years, it runs great. Once I get some new tires and change the fluids, it's good to go. I'm not sure about the rear bumper though. It's smashed in, but the people who use to have it said it passed inspection the way it is and I shouldn't touch it. I want to replace it though if I can. I would like to be able to open the back.

Guy2: check engine light is on? would most likely be your transmission or your oxygen sensor. you can always go to a place like rent-a-rim and pay like 15 bucks a month for a good set of 17's

Guy1: The check engine WAS on. As I said, it was probably because it didn't run for 2 years, but after starting it for the 4th time the other day, it went off.

I really don't need rims though. The ones on there are fine, good shape. Why waste money on rims when it's the last of my worries.

Guy2: because tiny rims on big trucks cause big trucks to lose control and spin off the road, especially since its rear wheel drive, also tiny rims and bigger tires make for bad blowouts, also emergency stops+tiny rims=going into a skid

(me: )

Guy1: 15 incher is normal and unless I'm going to be using this truck for a long time, I'm not going to start blowing cash everywhere. As I said, maybe down the road, but for now, that is one of the last things on the list for me to do.

Guy2: 15 inch rims suck, i know because 3 out of the 5 cars ive owned had 15 inch rims. even 16's are a HUGE improvement over 15's

myself: 17" rims??? maybe if he was running 37" tires with huge brakes

how are 17" wheels safer than 15"s? or does this kid not know what hes talking about?

Well, duh

The big rims increase your awesomeness, which is multiplied by your vehicle's safety rating to achieve maximum liveability

If you wanted to go to the trouble I guess you could change to bigger discs/calipers if you got bigger rims...but unless you're driving a Viper who cares?

I believe they made those up to 60's. The tires are solid rubber. Those arent safe Ive seen people fall of those before.

There is a ford explorer on campus with 26's. Then he has a spare on the back that is only 22", I guess the 26" wouldent fit as a spare.

They where made from th 1870-late 1880s, I ride them and my family makes nd restores them. The biggest one ive heard of has a 64 in front wheel diameter, its for a very tall person, i believe my uncle helped to restore it. Mine has a 50 inch front wheel diameter. The tries are sold rubber because inflatabel tires werent invented yet. Any questions id be happy to answer them.

I like how Guy2 recommended Rent A Rim. Does he use those payday advance places too?

We enter the zone of impressive numbers when we consider the onetime cost of the 1996 floods ($27 billion, but still cheaper than the 1998 floods), the annual direct losses due to desertification ($42 billion), and the annual losses due to water and air pollution ($54 billion). The combination of the latter two items alone costs China the equivalent of 14% of its GDP each year." - Jared Diamond, Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed
