Back story: I am in my 5th car as we speak. My first vehicle kind of set the tone for my future vehicles. My folks bought a 2002 WJ for my first vehicle. I loved it. I ended up lifting it 3" on 31's and drove it for 2 years. Then I changed my group of friends and decided I wanted a fast car. So I sold my beloved jeep and bought a mk4 vw gti(don't laugh, I was 18 at the time). I rocked the vw for a year before I blew 5th gear out. Those transmissions don't hold up well to 20psi and slamming gears every weekend at the track it turns out. So sold that for payoff and bought my honest to god favorite vehicle I've owned so far, an $800 1992 xj 5 speed. I loved this rusty POS to death, but unfortunately a cracked head lead to an engine fire and I junked it after 4 months of glorious ownership. After drowning my sorrows at the bar after that, I inherited my sisters 2005 exploder. I drove it a month before I started looking for something else. I hated that thing more then I hate broccoli, and I hate broccoli. Ended up running across a 2004 gto, which was awesome because i still had a need for speed and this fit the bill perfectly. Fast, comfortable, and got decent gas mileage. But after a hard winter (I live in ohio) and a failed job transfer back home (the great state of bama) I have decided to find something that can pull my bikes and not get stuck in 3" of snow. Which leads me back to square one and the brand that forced it's love on me. On Thursday of last week, I found what I hope to be my next vehicle. A 2006 LJ. It's dark green, auto (this part I dislike), has a hard top, and comes with service records knee deep to a tall giraffe. So hopefully I can work out a deal with the guy that has it and it be joining the jeep world again
Please welcome me back with open arms and dubious amounts of beer and good times.
