Truck guys

What do you think of this truck? I don't know much about it but the guy selling it is my girlfriends dads best friend. Just saw it today as I drove by his place out on the road. I haven't been able to get a hold of him yet to get any more info and I'm anxious.

Just wondering if you guys know what engine(s) came in it and what you think its worth ballpark wise (don't know the mileage or year so that might be kind of hard) Also anyone know what axle it is?

It either has the 4.3L V6, 5.0L V8, or 5.7L V8. Either a 10 or 12 bolt rear. I'm not the most familar with those trucks, but those are the basics.

I have just been doing some googling. I really hope its not the V6. The guy thats selling it is the guy that works on my jeep whenever I need stuff done and he is awesome. He really babies his vehicles and I know he wouldnt rip me off. I'm guessing its pre 1995 since 1995 was the year air bags came in and this doesn't have them. Blue book for the 1994 is $5,800

it's a gmc sierra 1/2 ton. it either has a 4.3L v6, or 5.7L v8, looks like a gm 12 bolt axle. they have a reputation for relaibility, i beleive they were produced from 1988 to 1998.

The 4.3 is not a bad engine. A little gutless yes but they are solid. Just check the frame on those style GM's,They are known to have a prone cracking point on the drivers side behind the rear tire. Overall they are decent vehicles

GMC had that front end since from 91-98. The blinkers look a little more modern so maybe its a 96-97. Depending on the milage and if it is a 305-350v8 It wouldnt be worth more then 3k.

If it was 96-97 it would have air bags, this one doesn't. Also I think it would be worth more then that, I couldn't find a spot of rust on it and the frame is defiantly solid.

However, if it were 3k that would make me very happy and I would be going to the bank right away

No air bags,Its probably a 91. They are not worth more then that. Even if it was a 4x4 1997-98 with under 100k its not worth more then 5k.

They updated those grilles in either '93 or '94. The driver side airbags went in in '95.

I used to have a '92 chevy shortbed with the 5.7 liter and a 5 speed. I put a flowmaster on it and it was the best sounding vehicle I have ever heard. It was a fun truck, but the horsepower rating was pretty dismal for a 350 in comparison to more modern trucks. I miss that truck.

Well I just talked to him. Its a 93 hat he fixed up a bit for his cousin who doesnt want it anymore. It has the 4.3L V6 160,000km. New doors and hood and rockers fixed up with new paint. Forgot to ask if it was a 4x4 but he is asking $3500 for it and said it shouldnt need anything for saftey.

I know the answer should probably be no but would it be ok to occasionally tow (not far) or even flat tow with the truck? It would just be nice to be able to move the jeep from home, to where I work on my jeep, to the local shop and if I breakdown near by (its happened before... and it will probably happen again)

My dad has a 94 4x4 with the 4.3 but it is the W/T package. Factory tow hooks,Trans cooler,Posi. I have towed a camper with it and it was pretty good. That does not look like a W/t package though and It does not look like 4x4. $3500 is wayyy to much for that. No more then $1800 I would say or offer.

i would imagine a tj is well within its towing capacity.

This thing is clean and not too high mileage. Also, Canadian priced tend to be higher on vehicles. I think I'm going to see if he will go $3000
