Trip to Boston

Just spent the weekend in Boston.... man it's REALLY nice. I'm from north Jersey and go to school outside of Philly so I'm always doing the NYC and Philly thing, so Boston was a nice change of pace. Parked the XJ Friday and Saturday and road the subway and walked everything, and today I took the XJ and we (went with my g/f and a couple of friends) did some last minute touring in the city .... Here's my favorite picture of the trip so far... can you guess why??

We did a ton of stuff in basically one day (arrived Friday night, all day saturday, left by noon Sunday)... Faneuil Hall, North End, Sam Adams Brewery tour (FREE beer!!), Aquarium, few nice restaurants, Freedom Trail, Cheers, Boston Commons, Harvard, BU (visited a friend), Cambridge, a couple bars and a comedy club.

We're planning on goin back in the summer to hang out again and catch a BoSox game ...

Anyone else been to/from Boston that can suggest any other fun or "must do" things????

... A little extreme, BUT I did notice that the number of homeless in Boston seems very high for such a small city, it was pretty sad to walk through a nice city like that that and see sooo many. Everywhere we went we saw them, and being from the NYC area I was expecting a smaller number of homeless in Boston by just pure proportion... I guess I was wrong....

Anyway... moving on.......

I liked hanging out near the bay at night. Theres a million little hole in teh wall bars that are fun to visit. Cheers and Fanuel hall are fun, but only once. It's too dam crowded. Go shopping at Downtown Crossing, see a Bruins game, walk around the commons. Go to the Upper Crust and get some pizza. Sometimes there are free concerts in Government center. I saw Cake put on a free show. Me and my friend walked aroudn the north end until we foudn the church that Boondock Saints was filmed in, that was neat. Had we not gotten arreseted, we planned to go to Yawkey way at night and go to all the bars.

Just a tip for your next trip which may make things easier. Personally when I go, its like a million times easier to park in Newton or a surrounding T-stop and take the train in. This eliminates having to drive through the city, and parking is under 10$ for the weekend.

we wanted to go on the Duck tour, but they actually only run from April to November or something like that, that's another reason we want to go back this summer.

Good tips so far tho.... lookin forward to my next trip

everything I have done has been mentioned but the Boston museum of science.

May seem kinda like a childish thing, but it was a good time.

Do you live in an apt or the dorms? My ex girlfriend used to live on the drom on Tremont, and I spent like every weekend there last semester.

I'm not sure, the only person I have to see is my cousin and she lives in Cambridge. Like I said the girl at Tremont is my ex, so I don't see her much anymore. The other girl I used to go see was at NU, but I got kicked off their campus for life last time I was there (long story, but I'm never welcome back).

I actually should call my cousin and make some plans for the end of the month, I haven't been up since September.

Actually you know what- I think she lives in the Somerset building now. Do you know a blonde named Kelsey Sheehan?
