transmission or clutch problem

What could it be? I was in too deep of mud. Got stuck. When I finally got it out it would not go. would go into gear but not go. The hydrolic clutch had tension. I have not looked at it yet, but want some suggetions on where to start. CJ 7 with 5 speed. Thanks

First, check your driveshafts (obvious, LOL, but easy to start there, LOL)

Then check to make sure your Transfer Case didn't pop into Neutral or blow the range you were in...try other positions on your TC. Then, (if still nothing happens) try all your gears in your tranny.

Then, if still nothing, it is your clutch. You could have blown the disc, and you could still have "pedal", just the disc isn't catching. You did mention that it is hydraulic? What year CJ is it? Possible you blew the slave cylinder?
