goodyear marathons are only about 75.00 each at Sams. (They have to order them, takes about a week). they were what came on my boat trailer and never had any problems so i bought some more. ( i guess you know you MUST use trailer tires on a trailer!) later

call me silly, but why MUST you use trailer tires on a trailer? i mean as long as the load rating fits the application

i worked for a guy that was in the siding and roofing business and we ran regular truck tires on everything, when tires were worn on the truck they got demoted to trailer and so on

trailer tires go under different loads than a car tire. they tend to sit for long periods without use, must take the weight of varying loads, and also have to withstand the force of a tire locking up on trailers equipped with brakes. they have thicker sidewalls and are much stiffer, remeber they dont need to give a great ride.

A lot of times you will find a trailer that just simply can't run car tires: the bias-ply trailer tire sidewall is more "upright": the more rounded radials from cars will quite often scrub the inside of the fenders.
