They DO want all YOUR guns!!!!!

Notice they are ALL democrats.......

"We must get rid of all the guns."
--Sarah Brady, speaking on behalf of Handgun Control Inc
Phil Donahue Show, September 1994
--- with Sheriff Jay Printz & others

"Waiting periods are only a step. Registration is only a step. The prohibition of private firearms is the goal."
-- Janet Reno

"I'm convinced that we have to have federal legislation to build on. Our ultimate goal -- total control of handguns in the United States -- is going to take time. My estimate is from seven to ten years. The problem is to slow down the increasing number of handguns sold in this country. The second problem is to get them all registered. And the final problem is to make the possession of *all* handguns and *all* handgun ammunition -- except for the military, policemen, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors -- totally illegal."
--- Nelson T. `Pete' Shields, Chairman, HCI
"A Reporter At Large: Handguns",
_The New Yorker_, July 26, 1976, 57-58
Notice all the new licensing requirements Mr. Shields plans on creating. Creating yet more government bureaucracy.

"Banning guns is an idea whose time has come."
--U.S. Sen. Joseph Biden Associated Press 11/18/93

"Banning guns addresses a fundamental right of all Americans to feel safe."
--U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein Associated Press 11/18/93
Compare Ms. Feinstein's comments to this one:
"Those who would sacrifice essential liberties for a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety."
-- Benjamin Franklin

"Until we can ban all of them we might as well ban none."
--U.S. Sen. Howard Metzenbaum Senate Hearings 1993

"We're here to tell the NRA their nightmare is true!." "We're going to hammer guns on the
anvil of relentless legislative strategy! We're going to beat guns into submission!"
--U.S. Rep. Charles Schumer NBC Nightly News 11/30/93

"With a 10,000% tax we could tax them out of existence."
--U.S. Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan Washington Post 11/4/93

"If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an out right ban,
picking up every one of them... "Mr. and Mrs. America, turn 'em all in,
"I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren't here."
--U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), CBS-TV's "60 Minutes," 2/5/95
I wonder if Ms. Feinstein would give up her guns (see below).

"Gun registration is not enough."
--U.S.Attorney General, Janet Reno on "Good morning America," 12/10/93

"Mr. Speaker, I still believe that the best way to control handguns is to ban them outright."
-- Rep. Cardiss Collins (D-IL)
"No, we are not looking at how to control criminals, we are talking about banning the AK47
and semi-automatic guns!"
-- Senator Metzenbaum (D-OH), during the Constitution Subcommittee of 2/10/89

"Our goal is to not allow anybody to buy a handgun. In the meantime, we think there ought to
be strict licensing and regulation. Ultimately, that may mean it would require court approval to
buy a handgun."
-- Michael K. Beard, President of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence

"Ban the damn things (guns). Ban them all. You want protection? Get a dog."
-- Molly Ivins, columnist, 7/19/94

Hmm. I've seen Franklin's quote applied to the Patriot Act as well. If it makes you feel any better, not ALL Democrats want to ban guns. Brady was a Republican until her husband got shot. She's still a Republican on every issue EXCEPT gun control. Oh, and Feinstein is a nutjob.

Lol, I like that you are here Phlex234, I love debating.

Like I said in the tax thread, if out country were to take a drastic turn for the worse, it would be appropriate to join a militia and take the country back from the socialist liberals. I'm not saying that all liberals are socialists, but there are some. I don't think there would ever be enough support for this to amend the Constitution so I doubt it will ever be necessary to take such drastic action.

Good one.

I don't know how you are going to take it back when people like yourself wish to get rid of all arms. What are you going to do, use a sling shot?

I mysellf am an independant voter. I will never vote for a republican though this election I may vote for a democrat (ONLY because bush scares the crap out of me). However, I have never drawn the line between fascism and conservatism. Though I do see that conculsion drawn on several occasions. I will chalk it up to certain politacally minded individuals talking out of thier rear: mud slinging and groundless nonsense. Living in the bay area you hear a lot of close-minded statements like this. Liberals are soooo open minded until you disagree with them. Berkeley is one of the most close minded places I have ever been. I consider myself liberal on many issues, but I can't even stand listening to thier indoctrinated regurgitations. For people who don't like being "preached to" they sure liek to preach.

I use my guns for hunting. No country I live in will ban hunting. No matter how hard the left-wing pushes, this kind of draconian gun ban would never happen in this country.... especially in light of what happened in britain when they banned guns in 1996 (I believe it was 96). google it if you are curious. This is the one issue where I am thankful for the republican party and thier respective lobyists. well....that and taxes. other than that, I care for republicans about as much as I care for thier ******* counterparts.

BTW... in case you were wondering, which you weren't, I am in complete favore of fire arm registration legistration. I mean dang, you register your CAR every year right??? whats wrong with registering your gun? Only problem is: those who oppose gun ownership DONT want to stop there.

See, the only problem is that they (being any person who votes for the passage of such a bill) would be pretty much commiting themselves to an early retirement from politics and or life. People generally tend to get flippantly irrational if you even allud to really outright removing them.

Nope. They can have my guns. Bullets first. Then after my gun is pried out of my cold dead hands, it's all theirs. That's how strongly I feel about it. Outlaw guns and I'll be perfectly willing to be an outlaw.
