There go our Guns...

All I could hear on KTLA ths morning was talk of gun control. They want hi-cap mags banned, semi-auto handguns banned, background checks to be much more substantial, etc. I talked with a guy at work yesterday and he felt like I did, this is going to be a tool used by the Democrats to take away our guns. Watch, this might be the straw that broke tha camels back(VT shooting). Either way, it might be a good idea to write your congressmen about your concerns. Responsable gun owners need to speak up, I feel this might be a very important few years for our rights. I vote libertarian

why don't they blame the situation on the real problems.... Giving the kid antidepressants which are known to make kids more depressed, and admitting too many foreign students. The problem isn't hi-cap mags, and I'm sure they'll find a way to relate "assault rifles" to the whole thing.

Well if you want to keep your guns DO NOT vote democrat for sure!

Billy did it in the past with his so called "assault ban" which thankfully got lifted, his wifey will most likely push the same crapola.

Brb, going to stock up on 30 round mags for my AR-15.

1) why do you need high capacity magazines? if you think you need more than 5 rounds at a time.... You're probably doing something illegal... or just need to learn how to aim better.

2) background checks should be more substantial. Clearly people that are getting guns that shouldn't be getting them...

Yes I'm canadian.. but really... just because you CAN have something.. doesn't mean you SHOULD...

Get a gun... have fun with it.. but you don't need to be excessive about it

Loading magazines 5 rounds at a time isn't much fun.

Now go back to your socialist utopia and mind your own business eh?

That probably wasnt a good response on gun-loving Jeppforum. No matter how harsh the gun laws get, there will always be the possibility for things like this to happen. People will always be able to get guns no matter what the law says. Guns are here for good and thats the truth, like it or not

Ha! I was flipping arond last night, came across some 60-mins-type show where the guy was saying that if they hadn't banned firearms from campus, then one of the responsible gun-carrying students might have put a stop to the non-responsible gun-carrying psychopath. An armed society is a polite society...

if guess some of you libby pansies didnt catch the part where the police cheif down in VA said that the serial numbers were ground off of the two pistols.

that says a few things to me:

they were illegally bought by a crazy person

they were stolen by a crazy person

the weapons are illegal in the first place (without #'s, and registration, permits, etc.)

Guns are not the problem. responsible people are not the problem. the problem lies with illegal ownership and crazy people having access.

I for one will never give up fire arms because frankly, protecting myself and family from people like the ****** from VA Tech is an important reason why am an owner of firearms.

go cry in France you pansy

BULL! Look at the statistics of countries that have banned guns. Rape, homicide, robberies are skyrocketing. A criminal can always get a gun one way or another. Only honest people are the ones that suffer.

1. Recent studies have show that teenagers on anti-depressants are not more likely to commit suicide.
2. The shooter moved here with his parents when he was a small kid and was a naturalized citizen. Guess he got screwed up here, not in Korea.

i've said this before in other discussions about this whole situation, 1/5 of canada's population (about 7 million) have guns, how come only around 100 people die from gun deaths each year. its not even close to how bad the US is. even if you do the ratio of population to guns and compare them to canada and the US, the US has some serious issues with gun control but i feel that everyone has the right to carry a fire arm...i mean every RESPONSIBLE citizen has the right.
