A-Tex Family Fun Center - Austin Texas

I know there are a lot of Austinites here so thought I would share a story.

My wife, who is pregnant, Mother and 2 year old Son were driving down Burnet when a truck with trailer from A-Tex Family Fun Center cut across both lanes to back into their driveway. They even had a person there to stop traffic so they could do it. Well they backed wide and even though my wife honked still clipped my wife's Tahoe who was first in the line of cars. All the damage is at an angle too. Immediately my wife pulled in and the passenger started shouting that she hit them while the driver literally walked away.

They explained to the owner Christopher Secard what happened and he produced a "witness" who saw my wife hit them. "Witness" was across the street when they saw it but did not walk over, instead called half hour later to announce they saw it.

Should have been a simple situation but instead got shady. What really adds to it through is my wife is pregnant and of course got upset over the whole ordeal but mostly from them not taking responsibility and instantly, literally before she opened her door, accusing her, frustrating and pathetic.

Called the Police but nothing from them. Going to be a he said, she said game.

Amazing stuff. Why are people so shady these days.

Were the cops called? The angle of the gash may well have proved your side of the story. Where I live, cops are supposed to be called if damage is $500 or more- and nowadays that's a basic dent.

The cops were called and said they could do nothing as they didn't see.

It's a bummer esp. since they have a "witness". I called the witness and he stated he just happened to be hanging outside on Burnet across the street. He used terms like "well from my angle it looked like". Complete BS as my wife even honked as she saw it was going to hit.

I called the "witness" and he said he was across the street hanging out. So why not walk over then, why call later on?

This is one of the people who told my wife she hit them.

File anyway, it only costs a few dollars. The the courts are generally inclined to take the side of the little guy.

Plus, see if this "witness" is willing to lie under oath.

No matter what the witness says how will they explain away backing across the road?

Sounds like you need to set up and protest outside of their business. Advise people not to use their service because they are dishonest and dangerous. They will pay you very fast. Heck stick big paper signs to your Tahoe with their info showing the damage. Make them nervous everytime your tahoe hits the street. They will quickly pay for the bumper repairs.

I can almost guarantee that the "witness" has some tie to them. Im sure the people on here wouldnt mind doing a bit of digging for you. That way if there is a connection they will face real consequences.

Or just make a huge sign that reads "x hit my car and refuses to pay" and park on public property right outside their business.

The "witness" is named Justin Walker. I don't want anyone calling them or harassing them in any way at all, nothing, not even a phone call or e-mail. But if Recon can find a connection that would be a tremendous help as without it I got nothing to move forward in my opinion. The guy in the picture above is the guy who right away claimed it wasn't their fault, his named is Sylvester Woynowski, maybe a connection between the two?
