6-7ft and its too much work for me to paddle out. But normally when it's that big here it is blown out crap, chop and white water.

Yea, 15ft is big enough, fast enough and hurts just right when you eat it. Can you imagine digging your nose in too far and doing cartwheels down that thing?

No thanks lol. Not to mention the rocks you wash up on. I actually surfed Portugal in 2005, had an amazing time. But was a little sketched out about exposed rocks and just not knowing the breaks I surfed.

I read a book on these guys, mostly about Laird Hamilton, a couple of years ago. They strap onto those boards similar to snow boards, get towed into the wave by jetskis, have helicopters as spotters, wear "flack" jackets, can sometimes literally see rocks being exposed in the trough in front of them?!?!?....insane and hardcore just aren't strong enough words for those guys.

8 is the biggest on a board and 12 on a sponge. After paddeling out in 8, i would take the sponge an anything over 6
