Sunday Beach Trip - Venezuelan Style
Hey all, I went on a trip to the beach yesterday with some friends and I thought you all might like to see some pictures and get an idea what off roading is like here in venezuela where I live. I didnt take my XJ, she's down for some maintenance right now but I went with a friend in his '84 land cruiser and toyota meru. Here are some of the pics of the action at the huge mud hole you have to cross to get to the beach

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() that ram had 40" tires on chrome 22" rims ![]() our friends toyota meru stuck, that mud was nasty it was up to our waists when we were trying to push it out ![]() ![]() the meru again, the dumb@$$ drove straight into a hole and got his dist wet and flooded the interior. we pulled him out and got everything dried off, he was able to drive home with no major problems. overall it was a fun day with lots of mud. the beach sucked tho, it rained all day. thats what wheeling here in venezuela is all about, tons of mud, water, no shirts and beer! ![]()

yes it is, i pay 91 bolivares per liter. $1 = 2500 bolivares so it costs me about $2.50 to fill up my tank with 95 octance gas. its great not having to worry about gas mileage! on the other hand, beer and gas are the only things that cheap, everything else is super expensive. just to put things in perspective i paid 2,100,000 bolivares for 4 235/75 destination ats

well its alot of fun and really sucks at the same time lol. traffic is insane, like seriously insane. alcohol is cheap and plentiful, drinking age is 18. the women are spectacular. theres a ton of beaches, most of which you have to wheel to get to, many of them within an hours drive from caracas. off roading is like the national sport, driving around you almost see more lifted trucks than you do cars. theres alot of problems with the government and all that, i'm sure alot of you have heard stuff about chavez on the news. and the economy sucks, everything is really expensive. but all in all its great, i really like it.
and my bad goob, thats not a CJ its a wrangler, says so right there on the fender lol

OK, for a second there, I thought that they might just do things differently down in South America.

I have a ton of friends in Mérida, it's probably the most beautiful place I've ever seen. The women are off the charts.
